To ask for recommendations for COMFORTABLE tights

I am going spare. And spending a lot of money on tights that claim to be comfortable but aren't!

I am 5' 10' size 10-12. My problem isnt length but waist band. I hate hate hate anything digging into my waist or stomach. And this always seems to happen with tights, even though I am slim, and especially after lunch when I feel like ripping the damn things off and going cold. Please help

My snag tights also snagged first use and I’d spend £35 on 5 or so pairs so I was pretty pissed off.

They also have had threads deleted on mumsnet for stealth advertising (including one in the last week or so) so I’d be wary of all the recommendations.

I really dislike Heist - so expensive and they do tear where the thicker band meets the sheer fabric. Honestly wouldn't bother. I do like Snag but size down as they come up large but are very comfortable to wear. Tabio are also fantastic - amazing colours.

For black plaques I find Bamboo tights from Boots really comfy and snuggly.

I find the asda 40 denier comfortable but I'm not quite as tall

Well that's off putting about Snag - I hate companies that do that and usually avoid after that. However they are the cheapest tights that actually fit me and the thick opaques don't snag. (I'm 5'10 and plus size - most tights have the crotch somewhere between midthigh and knees, even when I've sized up). With snag tights the crotch is where it is supposed to be and the waist band so high it is just under my bra! Definitely don't size up in them because they come up big.

I think snag are fab too but my 50 denier snagged in first use. 80 is fine though, have worn many many times. They are so stretchy I sized up 1 size and they fit over my 9 month bump!

I struggle with tall DD, size 14. Snag tights have been fantastic though. She hasn't had a problem with them and the 3 pair I bought her for start of school are still in good conditon.

Sad to hear they've used underhand tactics for advertising because I will happily rave about them as I've tried everywhere for school tights and this is the first brand that actually suit DD.

Oh yes, 80 denier only - haven't tried any other denier so my good condition comment relates to the 80's only.

A pp mentioned a proper cotton gusset on Heist - my Heist tights don’t have a cotton gusset at all ?

I transitioned to female 2 years ago and tights have always been an issue tbh. Always found they dug into my stomach but now discovered M&S Autograph range - absolute heaven fit well and feel lovely on just started part time work and have to wear skirt and tights with these no problem all day.

Snag tights are sooooo comfy. I always find it difficult to get tights that fit well and are comfy but snag really do both!

Falke or Walford are the best. Expensive but you need to look after them properly. Hand wash and no tumble drier.

Snags UK all the way. I am six foot tall and on the bigger size and an erring tights for the first time in years and years. The crotch stays at crotch level and not between my knees. Only £6.99 a pair. Wash amazingly. Fab colours. I am hooked

John Lewis super shaper 100 denier. Really can't recommend enough! I'm also 5'10 and slim. They are £10 so pricey but worth it!

Next luxe tights have a deep comfort waistband... They r great and don't dig into your stomach, even after lunch!!

Friend has given a glowing recommendation for Snag tights so I’m very tempted to try.

That said, I’ve had some excellent ones from H&M - really thick and woolly, so warm and they fit well.

I’ve been here a while, so not stealth advertising Snags! I think they’re fab, they have bonkers amount of stretch and the crotch stays where it should. I’ve only ever bought the 80 denier in boring colours. I wish they’d do more interesting patterns.

I also love the bamboo tights from Boots.

Another vote for M&S autograph velvet touch. They are amazing.

Try maternity tights in a size or two smaller than you usually wear.

Anotber vote for M&S velvet ones. I wore them for years, always been the most comfy for me

I must say I bought a pair of Snags the other day. I paid £8 with postage and to be honest I can't tell what's so amazing about them. I think they're a bit emperors new clothes 🤷‍♀️ it's nice to see an independent company doing so well but they were no better for me than my 3 for £3.50 Primark specials.

I'm a 12 so maybe they are better if you are plus sized or tall I guess as that seems to be the market they are aiming at.

I also buy a size up in tights - they don't seem to go baggy like they always did when you were a kid and I just find them more comfy. As I said before - Primark. I don't think you can beat their tights.

yes their velvet ones have a wonderful feel I always wear them on date nights and my other half always gets very tactile with my legs
