My line manager at the high school I work at is a member of SLT too, she's in her early 30s. She has praised me and the others on our dept before saying we are doing a good job, and I think she is very passionate and serious about the role she does.
As a manager I find her a little short-tempered. If you haven't done something right she will raise her voice and change her tone and stare at you in an aggressive manner, giving you that 'naughty child' feeling.
Yesterday she said some stuff which I found highly unprofessional. There is a female English teacher who's in her 50s and who's been at the school for 20 years.
There was a misunderstanding between this teacher and a student. She believed he had taken something belonging to her but it turned out he hadnt.
Anyway, I was in my manager's office today and in front of myself and 2 other members of staff she called this Lady (behind her back) a 'stupid idiot' and said shes 'fucking pissed off' with her. I then saw her argue with the teacher in the staffroom, and walk away shaking her head.
We all have our thoughts but AIBU to think it's highly unprofressional to talk about another member of staff like that, in front of other staff members ? I'm not going to but someone could report her. Or is this a regular occurrence in workplaces ?
