Someone’s using my address

Received a letter the other week from DDog’s vets with a bill for almost £200. I was shocked as DDog is fine and then realised it had the wrong name on it so wasn’t for my dog.

I called up and amended it at the time, all was fine. Got another through this morning. So I called up to politely say it had happened again and the receptionist was shocked. The man had been in just days before, both the vet and receptionist had asked him about the address and he swore blind that it was correct.

She said they were suspicious but had to give him the chance, but now will certainly not issue any more bills to me. She couldn’t believe it as it was her he’d spoken to and she even said I’d called.

They can’t divulge any information about him but I don’t know what else he could be using my address for Blush Realistically I’d want to speak to him but that’s not going to be possible. Do I just sit here and anxiously hope he doesn’t anymore.

Thing is, it’s a woman’s name on the letter and that name was carved into my metal gate when I moved in (and written on my walls! Council house). Neighbours told me last tennant was a man and a drug dealer, awful character. I have a feeling it’s him and his girlfriend doing this Confused I moved in 4 years ago by the way.

Sounds like it could be him. It'll be the vet that tells him no though so I don't think you need to worry 🐾

Maybe can't afford the vet bills but want their pet to be helped rather than PTS which is sad.

As long as nothing else arrives I wouldn't worry too much but ask vet to make a note on their file, which they probably will do as they won't get paid at all by the sound of it.

He sounds like a right chancer! Just keep sending the letters back.

Are you sure they're isnt a similar street. I lived in a " matlock gardens" flats but there was a street round the corner called matlock gardens. The woman genuinely phoned the police. God knows why all it was was my own doctor appointments
