Dd told me earlier that she was going to the local shopping center plus meal at mac Donald’s - I said ok but call me if you need a lift home or take the bus don’t walk back home through the park as there are lots of dodgy people after dark. She said ok.
Around 10 to 19.00 I checked where she was - she was at another park with her friend after dark !! I got cross with her and told her to come back home immediately! She is now angry with me because she thinks I don’t trust her (well she didn’t tell me her plan had changed and that was wrong!) and she can be responsible for herself !

Was I b u for ordering back home ???

No
She'd be grounded if she was mine.

Of course not

15 year old girls, (really anyone for that matter), shouldn't be hanging out in a park after dark. That is just asking for trouble. Also, she lied to you and you need to address that.

Windygate · 16/10/2019 19:54

Well you don't trust her and with good reason.

I have gone twice in the last month and just told my dd to get in car when she wasn't where she was supposed to be. She was so angry she was going to run away when I took her home the first time.
The second I just told her I was coming and she didn't argue. Now she tells me the truth

A 15 y/o, with a friend, in a park at 6:50pm - that I have no problem with.

However, I would have ordered her back home for lying about where she was going, so for that YANBU.

I don't think this is too unreasonable but I would talk to her about letting her know where she is and who she is with. But 15 with a (I assume known) friend I don't see as an issue. In my home town a girl was abducted and killed. Not in a park, but yards from her home in a well lit residential area, if it,s going to happen it can happen anywhere.
