To feel really sorry for Prince Harry breaking down

AviationLifystyle · 16/10/2019 09:56

At the awards show. I have been a little skeptical about him recently but my heart really went out to him when I saw the footage.

I have a feeling that having a child has triggered a huge amount of unresolved grief and anxiety. Now he has this dear little boy who is at the mercy of the tabloid press, as is his wife and there is little he can do to protect him.

It's time the press laid off. This is a human being breaking in front of us.

Hmm... yes.

  • Sorry but this is delusion.

We are quickly forgetting who we are talking about. M was a relatively successful actress, used to giving interviews and dealing with the media. She absolutely had to be. She arranged to meet cynical PM in a pub (whatever you think of him, he is an astute man. And I suspect that's the true reason he's so pissed off, because he was blindsided) and in one meeting had charmed him. Then there is their engagement interview. In it she noticably takes the lead in answering the question and was comfortable speaking. She has also spoken before the UN.

But you think she was caught out by the journalist?*

This.

On the Pakistan tour thing, the only vaguely sensible account I can find is below. Apologies for it being the Daily Mail, but the other sources are even worse:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7587885/Six-annoyed-Pakistani-government-ministers-stormed-reception-William-Kate.html

It seems the six "walk outs" are criticising security and the places they were allocated, which meant that despite many meeting W&K, they themselves didn't

Blingandrings · 19/10/2019 17:45

No doubt in my mind it was all carefully orchestrated. Of course M knew the questions in advance. Disingenuous in the extreme and designed to manipulate.

wondering7777 · 19/10/2019 17:56

No doubt in my mind it was all carefully orchestrated.

Yes, I doubt the royals would agree to such a programme if they didn’t have any say in the editing of it.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 19/10/2019 19:15

I think the camerawork was exploitative of the audience and intended to provoke a sympathetic reaction. Which it has, largely.

OhGrin

Well it certainly has had the desired effect for some people, yes.

minmooch · 20/10/2019 09:15

Thank you @Cerseirys and @Blingandrings

escapade1234 · 20/10/2019 09:37

I sense she’s an arch manipulator. She’s done it again with this little nugget of woe is me.

It’s fine to have personal struggles, nobody thinks being rich makes your life perfect in every way. What’s objectionable is emoting publicly about how tough your life is when all around you are people living demonstrably harder lives. It’s just one of those things she needs to keep to herself, her husband and her friends.

Total manipulator, I’ve known a few in my time and I see it in Meghan.

Horehound · 20/10/2019 11:48

arch manipulator
Arch nemesis. That's the only time arch is ever used. What a weird choice of wording.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/10/2019 12:26

Arch enemy?

HarryDaylight · 20/10/2019 12:28

Arch Bishop. Arch means main or chief.

bluebells100 · 20/10/2019 12:31

Harry didn’t break down, that’s for sure.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/10/2019 12:38

Well apparently they’re taking a six week break during which time they will hopefully get all the peace and privacy they want. Let’s see how long they can stay off social media.

Blingandrings · 20/10/2019 12:52

Where is that mentioned @Myimaginarycat?

Blingandrings · 20/10/2019 12:54

Ah yes, just seen it. It doesn't look great when Meghan has just returned from maternity leave.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2019 12:57

If true, a six week break sounds a very wise idea. Hopefully they can have a lovely, calm time together, keep the hell off social media and perhaps reflect a bit on how they're going to improve their image going forward

"Hitting the ground running" is all very well, but sometimes a pause to recoup's worthwhile and I hope it really works well for them

bluebells100 · 20/10/2019 13:05

A six week break? and these people feel so badly done to, full of self pity. Life is one big break for the royals, and I don’t think they feel an ounce of gratitude for what they get, just a huge sense of entitlement. They all disgust me.

Funghi · 20/10/2019 13:07

6 weeks of not seeing them in the press will be bliss. Although we’ll probably get double the dose of K&W instead.

Based on the interview clip I won’t be watching the documentary. What’s with the long bambi blinks she does? It’s the sort DD would do after she’d been told off and then wanted something.

BertrandRussell · 20/10/2019 13:12

“Harry is obviously unwell- he should take a back seat for a while”

Harry takes back seat for a while

“Lazy bastard- how dare he take a back seat”

cakeisalwaystheanswer · 20/10/2019 13:16

Six weeks off! There goes the ozone layer.

HarryDaylight · 20/10/2019 13:17

They've probably been advised by the Queen to take some time out. They both seem unhappy and the press is having a field day

PurplePoepleEater · 20/10/2019 13:45

What @CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook said here:

But you think she was caught out by the journalist?

Watch this old video where she brags about her skill in being able to make herself cry:

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2019 13:50

It doesn't look great when Meghan has just returned from maternity leave

Maybe not, but does it really matter if it helps them to calm down and find a better way forward?

FWIW I also wonder if someone else has advised this, but it's hardly the end of the world if we don't see them for a bit

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/10/2019 13:55

I completely agree. Meghan's work ethic is impressive and she should have credit for that, but she now needs to sit back and reflect on what they could change for the future.

Harry needs a good shake, I'm afraid. He's besotted and all his judgment is skewed. He's in a much better position than his wife to know what works and what doesn't, he just doesn't seem to be engaging his brain at all.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2019 14:00

PurplePoepleEater I thought that clip would make its appearance on here sooner or later, but she's been an actress so of course she can appear to cry to order

Whether she's done so on any given occasion is something else again ...
