What do you all make of this then?

A total cop out.

Two good books, great authors and subject matters and both completely different. Sounds like a sensible decision.

BTW I loved both.

But the question is: which one did that add on out of "duty"?

Love Atwood but with it would have gone to bernardine alone

I would have made them pick one name out of a hat. The jury have literally one job: to pick a winner. One winner. That's why they have an odd number, so there can't be a tied vote. If the jury didn't want to pick, then they should have tossed a coin.

But actually I would have made them pick anyone but Margaret Atwood.
