(Non) CF Parking Thread

I arrived home tonight to find a car parked slap bang outside my house in the road.

It is a newish clean premium model, and the owner had parked it very sensibly as it wasn't causing an obstruction at all.

I couldn't see it from my house as I have plants blocking the view.

There were many unused available spaces in the rest of the street, in fact this car may have been the only car parked in the road.

I had two cars on my drive, they both belong to us, and I could have squeezed a third on if needed.

I was walking though, and therefore had no need.

Bastards.

AIBU to want my own CF parking thread.Grin

No diagram? Shock yabvvvvu

themueslicamel · 15/10/2019 21:29

But they could have parked over my drive so I couldn't go out, I could have done a diagram and everything.

And why a nice car, couldn't they own a massive filthy van instead?Halo

Diagram

EggysMom · 15/10/2019 21:33

You could dig up your plants, you know, like you've planned to all along ... then it would spoil the view.

Oh my goodness, how unreasonable is the owner of that car?? Have you thought about getting a rugby team to bounce it so it's over your drive? Then you can get penguin bollards too, to prove a point!

TrainspottingWelsh · 15/10/2019 21:40

Leave them an anonymous note expressing your outrage at their lack of consideration. And call 111 and the council to log it.

GladAllOver · 15/10/2019 21:44

This is clearly a stealth boast about the number of free parking spaces in your road.
YABU!

YABU!

A side affect of many elderly neighbours who have one small car that they keep in the garage, and their driveways free for guests.

Does anyone have any experience of secretly buying an old van and dumping it across your own driveway for attention?Smile

At least you had a car parked outside your house! Whenever I go to visit my DPs I rely on the neighbours car being parked outside their house so I can tell the taxi driver to aim for the red car (well, OK, the other side of the red car, we don't crash into it..).... imagine my horror the last 3 visits, we've driven down the road and the inconsiderate neighbours HAVE PARKED ON THEIR OWN DRIVE!!! I have nothing to aim for. Taxi drivers now get to practice their emergency stops when I suddenly blurt out 'here!'

themueslicamel · 15/10/2019 22:08

Scoobyd2

I think you should leave a hard to remove sticker/note on their windscreen passive aggressively telling them they can't park on their driveway ad you intend to rent it out to a friend!

Your drawing is Master Class quality in Non CF Parking Diagramming. I salute your vigilance, this abomination would've escaped the notice of probably 99% of the population.
Have you considered a small publication, a companion tome to the Highway Code? I don't drive myself but I'd be thrilled to have a copy.

Teabay · 15/10/2019 23:00

Genius thread.

Please follow up with a school playground mums CF thread.
Then maybe something about pushchairs for your DC who are not quite 12 yo....

She's bloody scary..... Grin

Crafting1Queen · 15/10/2019 23:34

Genius thread, but nothing more witty to add, as it's a bit late lol.

Troilusworks · 15/10/2019 23:36

Are you sure there's no day time CF using your drive while you're out OP? You may need CCTV to be certain.

Leeds2 · 15/10/2019 23:42

Are any of your neighbours dog groomers?

themueslicamel · 16/10/2019 00:02

@Troilusworks

Good thinking!

Time for a surveillance camera installation.

Mind you, this will be an uphill task, as DP thinks CCTV is a very optimistic Spanish TV channel! 😂

I’m so sorry. I’ve never dealt with something like this myself but wanted to reach out to offer support.

Popcorninapot · 16/10/2019 07:24

Placemarking....

themueslicamel · 16/10/2019 08:50

@Troilusworks unfortunately not, neighbours are either city professionals or retired, so no dog groomers or anyone who might need a van.

I was going to paint some double yellow lines around it and put up a residents parking sign if it was still there this morning, but the sadistically reasonable cocksponge had already left.Sad
