Aibu? Slipped disk

I have just taken two day off work with sudden lower back pain. The GP suspects slipped disk, and I'm being treated accordingly.
My boss is really unhappy I've missed work, and that I wont be able to do heavy lifting for the next few weeks while I heal and have treatment.
Surely I have to avoid making this worse? I'm on my feet all shift, which is fine but will insist on not lifting.
Does anyone have any good tips to deal with this?

It's a difficult one as obviously the boss can't help feeling a bit miffed that your injury is going to impact them/other colleagues whilst you heal but obviously he is also being unprofessional about it? You being on lighter duties may mean that the boss has to take on extra work but at The same time you do need time to heal otherwise you could be off work for much longer so I can see both sides Really

Not much you can do except stick to your guns about no lifting but maybe see if you can help out in other areas which doesn't put your back at risk
