I'd love some feedback as I think they're basically very similar

Not really much of a difference. If I can’t be assed with an argument I just ghost

Ghosting is stopping all contact suddenly.

I've been ghosted. It's horrible.

CAG12 · 13/10/2019 18:18

Ghosting = just not replying to any form of contact

Phasing out = not being available for any social meetings. Not replying as swiftly to messages.

Either way, it means youre trying to ditch someone.

Ghosting - completely ignoring someone
Phasing out - reducing contact, slow to respond, being too busy/non commital about meeting up etc

Phasing out is more like drifting apart. Ghosting is a decision by one party to just drop off the radar. Ghosting because it's like they no longer exist.

Thanks for your responses - I personally think no matter how graciously you phase someone out there are people who act extremely offended anyway - there's no real easy way of ending a friendship
