Her weeping after the dance made me cringe. And her grasping of Mike bushel like a love struck teen - burying her head in his neck etc. Are they not meant to be professionals? All the touchy feely stuff is getting a bit much.

Ive not seen it yet as was working. I said at the beginning Mike's wife would need a padlock and it sounds like I was right!!

It annoyed me. he was shit and she cried. she seems to want to make it all about her (falling over last week)
I am also not keen on Saffron. she is like a lot of young women from my town ( bet she lives in the posh bit)

YABVU. I believe they are very lucky to have Katya (and Neil) on SCD. They are extremely talented dancers and choreographers and recognised for this worldwide.

In RL she is a very OTT person, it isn't put on. I really believe people just like to find fault in her after what happened with Sean Walsh. I truly believe there is way more to it than what was said in the press. Neil and Katya work and dance together day in day out but people like to see this big drama between them that clearly isnt there.

i just felt her emotions got the better of her. I imagine it must be tough going through a divorce in the public eye. I like Katya and to be honest, I have wondered if her and Neil were more of a marriage of convenience.

Well, I think Katya isn't one for falling for a person based on looks.... Mike seems like a nice chap, but I wouldn't think he would be interested, and I very much doubt Katya would go for Mike either. I think it's just been a hard year for her and she was genuinely proud of Mike.

I act like that when I'm due on and I see a roadkill. Always blame the hormones I say.

Not a fan of Katya and thought Mike was ridiculously overmarked. As were others. I’m not a fan of 9s and 10s at this stage of the series, they leave nowhere to go as dancers improve, which every year they do.

Shirley shouldn’t be a judge, she can’t maintain a professional distance from the dancers. The fanning and hot flushing over Kelvin is embarrassing. I feel the same about Bruno.

The Saffron booking was a mistake. BBC chasing after the ‘yoof’ audience. She doesn’t deserve her place but no doubt we will be bloody stuck with her for weeks. They should all be ashamed when they bring the dead/dying/ill relatives into it! Just dance FFS and let that do the talking.

Don’t get me started on the TessBot...

Shirley is really pissing me off. What’s going on with the fanning herself and creeping over much younger celebs? Act your age, woman! She’s coming across as a creepy hormonal weirdo.

Craig is much the best judge: objective, factual, helpful.

Meh. Leave her be, she obviously works very hard and it just looked like she was overwhelmed after a long week. We've all been there.

Poor Katya. She did wonders with her partner tonight. I think she was just grateful.

She has a lot going on this year.

She’s a great dancer and her choreography is exciting.

I like Katya. Last year was unfortunate, I don't see anything "put on" this year, she just seems really emotional. It's nice that she was so proud of Mike - he's working really hard and it paid off!

I’ve always liked Katya. She’s an incredible choreographer.

I agree with the previous poster who said they thought Katya and Neil’s marriage was one of convenience. I’ve always thought this too.

She has so much venom directed towards her on social media and in the press. She slipped during the dance, then made a joke of it in what was obviously a faked second fall, and everybody decides she’s drunk. She gets emotional after a successful dance and she’s accused of being deliriously unwell. As someone else said, she’s loud and talented, so she’s branded an attention-seeker (surely a positive thing for a professional dancer- they wouldn’t do well as a wallflower)

I think it’s understandable that things might be affecting her a little.

I agree about Katya being an incredible choreographer and coach. She always helps her partners to do better than predicted. She does react quite dramatically but it does come across as if it's genuinely how she is. I think the very public divorce must also be very stressful.

She does seem to get a lot of unfair press attention after 'that' kiss. By comparison Kevin Clifton does not - although Stacy Dooley had been in quite a longstanding relationship when he got together with her. Another example of dual standards for men and women in my opinion.

Marion Keyes (who is very funny about Strictly) once said it was poor etiquette to refer to a grandparent until Week 4. Perhaps Saffron has been following her advice as it was Week 4 today! I suspect all that fuss wasn't her choice. If a celebrity hasn't got a suitable older relative or young child, they are made to go into a school for those awful VTs. I still lovely Strictly, although it is so contrived.

I agree that Katya is a fantastic dancer and choreographer and has worked wonders with Mike - and also that she gets a lot of stick from the press- although she did cheat on her parter and if she’d posted about it on here, she’d have been savaged.

My point is more about them being professional dancers - the sobbing and clinging onto mike - when she buried her head in his neck - it’s just so OTT and cringey - I felt mortified for his wife and daughters ( who I saw on tv last week and they were just lovely). Mike doing so well was great - but she should have stepped to the side and applauded him - not made it all about her and her histrionics.

That double standard mentioned up thread really pisses me off. I'm not defending her indiscretion, however Kevin Clifton and Stacy Dooley are loves young dream. They may say different but they clearly had some sort of emotional connection before Stacey ended her relationship.

Katya is an easy target for the press.

Saffron is this year's Joe Sugg. To those of us who don't do YouTube and Instagram, they're complete nobodies.

Doesn't mean they don't deserve to be on the show, it's just their fanbase is younger.

I can't warm to Saffron, she seems a bit 1 dimensional, the granny stuff was beyond cringe. However... She and AJ are nice to watch and she seems to be really trying and improving.

God you lot are horrible. Imagine being a real human with real emotions! I think she was overwhelmed, they said he had been ill they weren’t sure if Mike would be able to dance this week. He has come on leaps and bounds since week one, it was a very difficult fast paced dance and he did really well. Perhaps she was just feeling a bit emotional, relieved, overwhelmed. I think it’s nice to see people show emotion, it shows how much work they put into the show.

I've always liked Katya and stuck up for her last year but this year she is really getting on my nerves.

Yes she has always been loud and over the top but now she is just making a complete idiot of herself. My DH asked why she was making such a racket! He also asked why she was wearing a wedding ring still

I think she's brilliant! Her routines are usually the most entertaining and original and she puts so much heart and energy into working with her partners (ok, in the case of Seannnnnnnn Walsh, ahem, maybe a bit too much behind the scenes, but I'm putting that to one side for now). I just thought she was emotional at how well Mike, who clearly finds this more challenging than other contestants, did this week and it meant a lot to them both.
