To accept this job if offered?

I'm about to go to a first interview for an admin job paying 18k.

A few weeks ago I applied for a job within the civil service which pays 26k.

Yesterday, I got confirmation from the CS inviting me to a face the face interview later this month. I didn't expect this at all.

I know CS jobs take ages to be put into place. Possibly 6 months+. Would I be unreasonable to accept (if offered) the 18k job and resign when I am accepted for the CS job?

For what it's worth the CS job is a lot more flexible. I'd be able to work part time and finish each day at half 2 in order to collect my DS's from school.

Yes, take it. You don’t know if the CS job will come to anything.

Oh god yes. Just accept it. It'll be a nice problem to have.

Thanks, I'm planning to take the job if it's offered to me.

@AJPTaylor I know it's I nice problem to have, that said l, I've yet to be offered either job.

I suppose my question is, if I'm offered job 1, would it look bad if I left in a few months if I was offered job 2?
