To sleep in underwear

Aibu109 · 11/10/2019 08:24

Just had a conversation with my partner about sleeping in underwear - namely boxers.

I said he shouldn’t do it as he wears jarma pants to bed and he was taken aback and was like why shouldn’t I? I personally wouldn’t go to sleep in a pair of knickers I’d worn all day.

I mean he is an adult so he can do what he wants but I feel it’s unhygienic to wear both especially if you’ve worn the same pair all day

If you wear pyjama bottoms you shouldn’t wear boxers/ knickers too - am I right?

Glad I wear a nightdress and knickers. I have summer nighties and winter nighties.

I wear undies as does my DH. It would be weird for us to wear pjs, I feel they’re reserved for children and older people tbh.

It’s not controlling at all so those who have said I am can bugger off 😂😂 Jesus Christ 😂😂

I asked you what Eddie wears. You're his wife right?

Does he wear brand new clean PJs every night?

LakieLady · 11/10/2019 14:29

PJ's on cold nights only, and I often take them off before I go to sleep as I generally get too warm. I never wear knickers underneath and I usually have clean PJs every 3rd day or so.

Because they're loose around the crotch, they have minimal contact with my fanjo and I don't piss myself, so they don't get dirty or smelly or anything.

NewNameGuy · 11/10/2019 14:42

I wear my boxers from the day to bed. Sometimes with PJs sometimes not

Topseyt · 11/10/2019 14:55

As long as he showers each morning and then puts clean boxers on then I can't see the issue. It's what I do (pants rather than boxers, as I am female).

Leave him to it. The guff about genitals needing to breathe overnight is just that, old guff. I've never had a problem. I used to hear that it would cause all sorts of problems but it hasn't.

Ambydex · 11/10/2019 15:07

I would consider this normal, and I'd prefer it to wearing PJ bottoms for multiple nights without anything underneath.

However if sharing a bed with boxers he's worn all day bothers you, I think it would be reasonable to ask him to put a clean pair on. If you are really just worried about insufficient airing of his bits, he's managed ok so far so I think you can relax.

eddiemairswife · 11/10/2019 15:11

Glad Eddie wears nipple tassels and a thong.

19lottie82 · 11/10/2019 15:20

Of course YABU l, as he said, why shouldn’t he? It’s whatever is comfy for the individual.

I sleep in pants or pants and PJ bottoms

19lottie82 · 11/10/2019 15:22

My DH sleeps in boxers (trunks) as he says he hates everything flapping about and then there is the possibility of things getting squashed if he rolls over 😂

MerryDeath · 11/10/2019 15:38

no underwear under pjs (me) or anything at all (DP).

grumpypregnanttired · 11/10/2019 16:12

I’m more likely to just sleep in underwear than pajamas (well pants and a T-shirt) and I wouldn’t put a clean pair of pants on to sleep!

DwangelaForever · 11/10/2019 16:14

No pants under pjs here except when on period or wearing a nightie

HappyParent2000 · 11/10/2019 16:24

It’s super unhealthy to shower daily.

betternamepending · 11/10/2019 18:31

I breathe woth my lings.

Also, encountering a few bacteria once in a while isn't harmful. You don't need new fresh clothes twice or thrice a day. Wearing the same pj's as yesterday is fine.

betternamepending · 11/10/2019 18:32

*I breathe with my lungs.

Shows me why I should proofread before hitting the post button.

QueenBeex · 11/10/2019 18:46

If I'm wearing pjs I wont wear underwear underneath them.

WanderingMind · 11/10/2019 19:05

Don't ever wear Pjs unless there's snow on the ground outside.

Otherwise it's just knickers. Or not. Wink

Topseyt · 11/10/2019 19:09

I don't believe that it is super unhealthy to shower daily and shall continue to do so.

SoupDragon · 11/10/2019 19:10

Unless you sleep with your legs open and up in the air, you arent increasing or decreasing air flow to your genitals by wearing/not wearing a pair of pants.

This!

FreshwaterBay · 11/10/2019 19:14

As long as they are not stolen off the neighbour's washing line it's fine.

Skysblue · 11/10/2019 20:05

Well you both seem a bit overly fussed about what to wear to bed so on the bright side you seem perfect for each other.

We don’t wear anything in bed but to each their own.

(And to the person who said ‘your bits don’t breathe’ - obviously that is a euphemism for the fact that occasional fresh air is good for vaginal health and helps prevent thrush etc.)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned poo crumbs(a thread a few years ago).
