I read a lot of threads about cheeky fuckers and want to hear about your ACFs (anti cheeky fuckers).

I’ll start...

We had a family emergency a month ago that required us to fly overseas at very short notice for 3 weeks. For various reasons we couldn’t take my older daughter.
Lovely lady actually turned up at our house and volunteered to take her for the time we were away.
Anyone who volunteers to have someone else’s teenager for 3 weeks is an ACF.

ACF - the my dad's friend who, when mum was terminally ill, heard his car was over due it's MOT. Without being asked he took the car keys and got dad's car full service and MOT and returned it the same day. Giving dad one less thing to do or worry about. We only realised it had been taken care off about a week later, and he refused to take a penny off us either for the cost.

Don't know if it counts, but I'd like to nominate my husband.
When my Mam died, 150 miles from our home at 5pm, he drove all the way to me, gave me a cuddle, then drove all the way back and started a 12 hr day shift at 7am.
Plenty of times he's been a CF, but I thought that was a lovely thing to do.

it's a shame this thread isn't jumped on as quickly as the CF threads seem to be!

That’s lovely.

My husband works away.
Quite regularly while he is away my mom and sister either invite me to theirs or themselves to mine and they usually bring food for me and me 3 kids

I have one! I’m a store assistant, I had a gentleman pay for the lady in front’s shopping a few days ago, for no reason other than he wanted to do something nice! It made my day too Smile

My MIL - we have had our differences over the years (in hindsight I was a bit bitchy/petty). Now we have a great relationship and talk most days and meet up regularly. I have recently taken up a new hobby (no, not cycling) and she has helped me immensely with tips and even bought me/given me stuff to use for it. When my own mum doesn't live nearby and can't hep as much as she would like, my MIL is my go to person

My SIL is an ACF! Most of my siblings work/live away from my parents so when my dad was in the worst of his Parkinsons decline my SIL would take time out of her day (working full time, raising 2 kids who were about 9 and 11) to help my mum clean and look after my dad. She even clipped his toenails and did basic medical care on his feet as he wouldn't let anyone but her need them. He wasn't her dad but she cared for him as if he was. When he went into the nursing him she visited him regularly and comforted him even though he mistook her for his own sister half the time. When my dad died she supported my brother while he made all the difficult in person funeral arrangements, SIL visited my dad in the morgue and comforted us all.

We are so lucky to have her, she has a heart of gold.

I try to be an acf when I’m at work
If I see someone struggling I do my best to help

My mother in law is the acf of the whole world
When I was sexually assaulted at work she drove 192 miles just to check I was ok
She rang everyday to make sure I was ok and offered for me to go and stay with them just so she could keep an eye on me-and I’m sure I irritate the hell out of her
When I got hit on the head with a size 12 trainer at work she gave me first aid over the phone
When I got stung by a wasp (I’m allergic) she kept me calm and got me to hospital
Many many more thats she’s been amazing
I adore her-she’s an angel in human form
