Why Does Thornton's Chocolate taste so disgusting?

I simply don't understand why Thornton's chocolate is marketed as a quality product. It has an oily texture and is tasteless, much like cheap bars of unbranded "choc" they used to sell in Woolys.

Lindt chocolate is far superior. In fact Aldi's own brand is almost as good as Lindt, and a fraction of the price of Thorntons.

It used to be high end, tasted delicious, we even used to send it to our friend abroad, however they went too over exposed selling in super markets, non exclusive and cheapened the brand and product, awful now, not seen as a luxury at all

It used to be amazing but has definitely gone down hill in recent years which is a shame

It used to be great. I loved the apricot parfait.

The last ten years or so, it's been very bland and I don't bother with it.

It used to be amazing but it’s really gone downhill

It used to be amazing - better than Hotel Chocolat, but then when HC launched they decided to mass market instead of compete. That’s when the product became shit
