To complain to ocado about this?

Would you complain about this? I ordered some food from ocado and two of the carrier bags were really wet at the bottom, so much that the magnetic board in the Ocado Magnetic Meal Planner was damaged (even though it was wrapped in plastic). Most of the other items were fine due to the plastic and glass packaging even thought some of the outer cardboard packaging was damp. Some Chocolate wrapped in cardboard was a bit damp and has no other packaging to protect it. I assume it was just water? But from where though as it wasn't raining. Did something leak in the van?

Yes sure Ocado are really good at this, just request a refund through the app

lilyboleyn · 08/10/2019 10:53

Second that. Just request refund and it’ll be approved unless you’re a prolific returner.

AdaColeman · 08/10/2019 15:23

Yes, request refunds for all the damaged items (especially the chocolate Wink ). Ocado customer services are usually very good.

ElizaDee · 08/10/2019 17:13

Did something leak in the van?

I'm sure you're more likely to know that than us.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 08/10/2019 17:15

What an ocado magnetic board planner and is it a freebie?

BeanBag7 · 08/10/2019 17:16

I would request a refund for everything that was wet or damaged.

ArsenicGreen · 08/10/2019 17:17

I have had similar to this a couple of times and they refund very promptly. Using the website or app it is very straightforward.

QuaterMiss · 08/10/2019 17:17

Of course you should let them know!

Don’t think of it as a ‘complaint’ if that term inhibits you. Ocado makes thousands of deliveries - they can’t promise or deliver perfection every single time - and they’re usually very efficient about refunding damaged or missing items.

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/10/2019 17:18

Mine came sopping wet too. I got refunded damaged items.

YouLikeTheBadOnesToo · 08/10/2019 17:20

I wouldn’t bother to complain, I’d just request a refund on the app.

It’s happened to me before. Stock cubes and salt (in one of those cardboard shaker things) were soggy. I requested a refund on the app, money was back in my bank account in a couple of days Smile

AllFourOfThem · 08/10/2019 17:21

Of course. Ocado are really good about things like this.

IncrediblySadToo · 08/10/2019 17:23

Yes, don’t eat any of it that was wet either. It could be anything! ( or just rain from earlier - who knows)

With sainsbury & Tesco going ‘bag free’ this is going to become a huge problem over the winter. They’d better all get prepared for a lot of refunding.

LouLouLoupee · 08/10/2019 17:26

@IncrediblySadToo it’s really not, I’ve not used bags for over a year and never had a surge in refunds when I changed

PicaK · 08/10/2019 17:35

Of course. Don't even stress about it. Ocado are fabulous at customer service-tho I would take photos.

IncrediblySadToo · 08/10/2019 18:32

@LouLouLoupee

You’re one person. My Tesco drivers have already had issues!

By the time they carry crates to my door, things will be soggy if it’s raining.

If you’re under cover or they can park right near your door then it won’t be an issue for you, but it will be for many.

AllTheGoodUsernamesTaken · 08/10/2019 18:49

IncrediblySadToo there was some non food items like shower gel, passata in glass jars but the outer cardboard was soggy that I assume will be fine. Will things wrapped in plastic like the pasta and meat be okay?

Thanks for all the replies

I’ve had refunds from Ocado. I usually take a photo but they never ask for it

user1474894224 · 08/10/2019 18:55

@Coffeeandchocolate9 I want to know that too.....why don't I have one.

OP - pasta, jars etc will be fine.

BeeFarseer · 08/10/2019 18:58

@AllTheGoodUsernamesTaken

Please don't disappear before telling us what the magnetic planner is!

Accountant222 · 08/10/2019 19:04

I had one of those large plastic ecover washing liquid leak and a jar of mint jelly the bottom of the jar sheered off, god you've never seen such a mess. Got full refund and customer services emailed me a £10 voucher after I sent photos.

23Squared · 08/10/2019 19:09

The meal planner is only 1p.

It is just a planner!

AllTheGoodUsernamesTaken · 08/10/2019 19:09

Type Ocado Magnetic Meal Planner and its the one that is 1 pence. No idea why it's just a penny. It's definitely a bargain. Already got one, was getting one for my mum

Ocado are really good. Our ice cream was missing once, turned out it had fallen out of the bag and the driver was a fair distance away when he realised. The next shop we had the ice cream, although it was refunded the last time, and a bottle of fizz as an apology.

IncrediblySadToo · 08/10/2019 19:57

@AllTheGoodUsernamesTaken

Depends really, but given it could be anything (what does it smell of or feel like?)I would be very careful.

Imagine it’s cleaning fluid then decide what you’ll risk eating.i. wouldn’t care if I knew it was rain water, but you say it’s not, so...

)It could easily be from
Someone else’s shopping!)
