AIBU how to stop upper lip zits giving me the shits?

In today's first world problem news, I have upper lip zits. I'm 41, so I'm lucky to continue to suffer acne like a pubescent teen WHILE dealing with increasing amounts of wrinkles.

Not sure why the upper lip is copping the brunt of it lately as my zits didn't discriminate quite so much before. I continue to be blessed with zits elsewhere on my face, neck, back and chest for good measure, but since I had my DC I'm noticing the mo area is increasingly rife with blackheads turning into whiteheads that then explode like Vesuvius leaving me with attractive redness and scarring until the next round appear.

I hope I am alone in this, but just in case I'm not has anyone else conquered the upper lip zits that won't quit? They're shit.

You poor thing, sounds like you have adult acne (I'm not a doctor so could be wrong). Ask for a referral to a dermatologist, they can work wonders. Trust me, I've seen it happen.

I mentioned this to a dermatologist once and she said it could be caused by bacteria in the nose - she prescribed me Naseptin Nasal Cream which cleared it up . Hope this helps .

Gp for a dermatology referral. I was treated for adult acne in my early 30s and it changed my life.

If it's just on your upper lip is it possible that you might be allergic to something? Do you use lip balm? Wax your upper lip? Drink a lot of non-water drinks?

Divgirl2 · 08/10/2019 08:07

Oh, and try a non-SLS toothpaste.

Thanks, Audacity7! I’ll try that.

I saw a dermatologist when I was a teen for acne but nothing helped besides the pill. Not willing to go back on it though so I will try the spray and different toothpaste and see what happens.

Any other more conservative methods I could try?

By the way, when I say upper lip I mean between lip and nose.
