To see my doctor about my sleep disorder?

I'm not diagnosed with parasomnia but I know the label fits. A few times every week I wake up shouting, screaming, waving my arms around, sitting up, running around the room. I'm dreaming whilst also waking up. When this happens I know I need to try and drag myself to being fully awake and that does work to calm me down. Usually my heart is racing as I am terrified when I wake. Once I woke up hitting my husband. Last night I woke up hitting myself in the chest. It hurt. Not bruised though which is good I guess.

Is this something just to live with or go and see the doctor about? I've never tried to leave the house or anything but I have freaked the kids out quite a few times.

Yes, definitely. Aren’t you tired apart from anything else?

I'm knackered every morning but still wake up most evenings at about 10pm! I've never been a morning person.

Go along and speak to your GP, if you’ve hurt yourself, your DH and frightened the children it’s got to be explored.

Thank you ladies. I will see the gp. When you look at it in black and white it's clearly not something to ignore. Thanks.
