Feeling guilty

I know this is ridiculous but do any other parents just allow their toddlers to sit and watch tv for most of the day? Today is one of them days for me but then I feel bad. He's 2yrs old but is poorly so can't do much else. I need to know I'm not alone😂

When they are at home poorly, it's understandable. Normally I'd have mine out and about though, walks in parks etc at least. They'd sit watching it in the evening whilst playing though.

WorraLiberty · 06/10/2019 15:52

I'd feel more guilty about forcing an unwell toddler to do something they'd rather not do, to be honest.

ImogenTubbs · 06/10/2019 15:56

Not every day clearly but when they (or you) are poorly every once in a while it's a good thing!

Oysterbabe · 06/10/2019 15:57

It's fine. Mine have the odd day like this if unwell.

iwashappyonce · 06/10/2019 15:58

We are having a down day at home today. Yesterday was a big day out at the zoo with lots of walking, picnic etc. Today is doing garden jobs, baking and watching DVDs. It's fine.

If he's poorly he probably doesn't feel like doing much so long as the programmes are suitable (and he doesn't do it too often) there's no point in feeling guilty. Maybe sit with him and chat about what he's watching?Could you break up the TV with a few stories?

Bigmango · 06/10/2019 16:32

Absolutely fine as long as it’s bbc and not commercial channels as I’m fairly sure toy adverts are the very definition of evil.

Lozxx · 06/10/2019 16:54

Thanks everyone, he has just asked to go for a walk so we went around the block and now he's colouring😊 I take him out a lot so staying in isn't really what I'm use to. I always get mum guilt, first child and all that

We're all allowed a day doing nothing!
