Am having trouble with mine, just received.

Once I get it in the right place it works but it's hard to keep it in the right position.

Also it says use at 50mA but I'm on the sensitivity test and 15mA is making my stomach churn.

It's a really weird dragging sensation with like a rhythmic clicking almostis this normal?

I really wanted this to work for me :(

Watching for interest. Which one do you have? I was thinking about getting the Elvie kegel toner but not sure of the expense.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 14:45

I've got the kegel8 20 ultra.

It's expensive. Was about 130 quid but I figure if it helps then it's well worth it.

It's just a really weird, uncomfortable sensation. Not painful but strange and not enjoyable.

I’ve got an elvie and don’t rate it - perhaps if I took it with me to a physio they would be able to tell me if I am using it correctly I might have more faith in it.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 14:58

I was actually go ogling continence nurses to try and see if I could make a private appointment to make sure I'm using it properly.

No luck though.

I have been using the tenscare itouch sure for about a month now. It was cheaper than some on the market as only £55 but I can definitely feel it working. It took about a week to really get used to the sensation, at first I couldn't get beyond 20 but now upto 65 and the pulling sensation is the pelvic floor contracting. I already have better bladder control.

Phoebesfleas · 05/10/2019 15:21

I have the same one as you op and it does feel weird and uncomfortable to start with, position the electrode so that the plastic lip/rim thing is at the entrance. I’ve been using mine for about 9 months and I cannot rate it enough, I used to leak a little bit when I coughed, I don’t anymore.
Also I can feel the difference in my muscles when I clench them so can DP, I’m not quite back to my pre child state but this little machine has made a huge difference and it’s worth every penny.
Regarding the settings, start off low and up it every week, you will get used to it. If you feel it moves or slips a bit whilst using then keep a finger on it to keep it in position. I use mine twice a day most days. Make sure you leave at least 8 hours between sessions.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 15:25

Ah Thankyou so much.

It makes sense you need to build it up and it's reassuring to know other people found it strange at first.

I'm planning on doing it at about 8.30am and 9pm daily.

I guess I've not used those muscles at all for a long whilst so it is going to feel odd to have them working hard.

Also it says for use sitting or standing

Am I OK to use it lying down?

Good luck and it will work so don’t give up.
Little piece of advice, if you feel the urge to sneeze whilst using it for gods sake hold it in, it flew out when I sneezed and the pulse that’s uncomfortable whilst inside is excruciating agony when it pulsates on your vulva!!

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 05/10/2019 15:35

I’ve got the Kegel 8, it sounds like you’ve got it set too high. I normally have mine about 40. You can walk about with it in, I usually wash the dishes in the evening with mine in xx

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 15:36

Hopeless the most I was able to use it at was 20.

I found even moving around a little in bed stopped it connecting properly.

I think my issue is quite severe though :(

Bigfatspiders · 05/10/2019 15:45

OP what type is it? Do you have it in far enough? I have a kegel8 too and use it at 70. It’s not uncomfortable unless I accidentally go above that.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 15:47

It's the ultra.

It says to put it in about 2 inches. Not as high as a tampon?

I did have one briefly many years ago, after one of my kids and I don't remember it feeling like this.

I remember using it in higher numbers. I just didn't keep up with it so passed it onto someone else.

The sensation feels more in my bottom than my vagina too Hmm

OP posts:
NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 22:46

Am feeling so fed up.

Tried to do it again and it wouldn't connect. Then when it did it was on 15 and I couldn't bear it for more than a few minutes :(

OP posts:
NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 22:47

I'm not a wuss. I gave birth without even gas and air. But the sensation makes me feel sick and its just so uncomfortable

You should really get assessed by a Women’s health physiotherapist. Some people’s pelvic floor muscles are too tight and using a machine in top of that is not going to help. They can give you advice on using the machines.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 23:21

I'm definitely not too tight. I feel very baggy. During sex and tampons don't stay in etc

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 05/10/2019 23:21

I will go doctors though. Thanks
