To expect Tesco to let me know they're not bringing my grocery delivery

Ordered for 8 - 9 p.m, I received a text saying they'd be 10 mins late, then 20, then 40. At that point I contacted them on Twitter, wad told they were running late due to a crashed lorry and my delivery charge was refunded. I contacted them again an hour later, was told they'd find out when i could expect it, I've heard nothing since, despite asking several times.

I desperately needed the delivery, I've no bread or milk or cheese left, no food in general, and also needed to bake a birthday cake for my mum's birthday, setting off to hers tomorrow late morning.

The least they could do was let me know.

Ocado did the same to me tonight. Called 10 minutes before 10-11 pm slot to say running 3 hours late and he was going off shift. second time in last 5 deliveries.

When Ocado dump Waitrose and bring in m&s (additive and sugar filled crap food) that will be the end of ocado for me.

YANBU. Tesco are usually very good with their grocery deliveries, but they could improve how they handle it when they can't deliver. Last time it happened they couldn't reschedule for us, no, I had to go back online and place a new order.

If I remember rightly the deliveries run later than the customer services. Makes me wary of taking the late slots but sometimes they're the only ones left.
