To be sick to death of aibu threads that are nothing to do with being unreasonable

You know the ranty messages to random people they know just to get it off their chest? Posting here for traffic ones. Or other such stuff. There's s place for them by all means but surely it's not aibu board? Or am I just grouchy?

I did put YANBU because you are entitled to find it annoying.

YANBU, AIBU has become a dumping ground for everything, it's ridiculous, it's being used as if it is the only board on MN.

I think they do it because AIBU is probably the most popular part of Mumsnet so they increase their chances of getting a lot of response.

Often you can filter already the real AIBU, the juicy stuff , by title.

If there was a rants and raves section this post should be there, not aibu!

YANBU. Too many people get AIBU confused with TripAdvisor / Google / the doctor / Chat.

I think YABU because when I post from the app it doesn't let me post on any other board. Clearly some sort of mistake but if I don't post on AIBU I'd not be able to post.

I think the underlying issue is that despite the recent consolidation efforts, there still remains an inordinate number of topics here on this site. Nobody wants to spend time and effort typing something up only to have it go unanswered for days, assuming said post even gets a reply. I'm sure you're familiar with that thought process though, seeing as you've posted this in AIBU, of all places!

Personally, I'd much rather a large number of posters be cramped into a few select boards than to have to scroll through pages and pages of posts void of lively debates purely due to everyone being so spread out. But hey, to each their own.

I suspect they do it because experience tells them that if they post on any of the other boards their post will just become nothing more than cyber tumbleweed.

I've looked on some of the other boards and some of them haven't been posted on for years.

I'm thinking more along the lines of there being 5 to 10 topics, @EvilPostbox. No one's proposing the complete abolition of them!

But if you don't post it on AIBU how on earth will you get quoted in The Sun?

Bumping this (had previously only voted) because I’ve seen about six threads today that are not aibu:s. There is a chat forum that has traffic too, why can people not post TV for chat there???
