To want to date a guy who used to have a crush on my friend

Hi,

I have a female coworker who also happens to be a friend, not a close one but still.

she’s 10 years younger, prettier and in a committed relationship of 5 years.

this new guy sarted working in the same company. He asked her out, she told him she’s not available and not interested. We started spending lunch time together once in a while and before I knew it, I started having feelings for him.

yesterday he asked me out and I said yes but now I’m wondering if that’s “OK”. Part of me feels like there’s nothing wrong with this since he never dated my friend and she has never been interested.

But on the other hand I feel like I’m a consolation prize and he’s settling for me.

Am I overthinking this ? Would you go for it ?

Go for it. I do know what you mean but is it worth not dating someone you really seem to like?

She wasn't interested in him. It's fine!

I.don't really see what the issue is ,he asked her out as he presumably liked,her but that means nothing really ,even if they had gone out it might just have been a one off ,if you like him to for it !
