It seems very out of character for Harry? Confused I wonder if he misinterpreted and thought she was asking about the lawsuit...

Who knew advocating for the environment or rights for people with disabilities was "woke left wing activism" these days Hmm

BertrandRussell · 06/10/2019 21:56

Yep. Bloody Commies wanting women not to die in child birth, being boxers and ballet dancers.....

BertrandRussell · 06/10/2019 21:58

Writing books, advocating for people with mental health issues.......

Cerseirys · 06/10/2019 21:59

Prince William does a lot of mental health advocacy. Bloody Duke of Wokebridge...

BertrandRussell · 06/10/2019 22:04

As side issue- I would absolutely love to know what her Maj thinks about Brexit......

Mummy195 · 06/10/2019 23:06

In her old age, the queen must be gutted with how her grandson is being treated.

But now they have a POC in their household, they know what it's like to live with discrimination on a daily basis.

HelloCheeky · 06/10/2019 23:19

Oh totally agree BertrandRussell how awful that people in the news talk about how some people have hard lives and perhaps it would be better if lives were more equal. How laughable and 'woke'

I would much prefer nobody mentioned issues which could improve everybody's lives

chinesewhiskers · 07/10/2019 05:07

I have to wonder whether Harry and Meghan are currently trying to suppress something new being published or reported. Seems odd to initiate these legal proceedings at this point, with all the favourable coverage they received in Africa. Both sets of proceedings relate to the publishing or use of private correspondence or messages. I wonder if this is a preemptive strike to halt the publishing of something else.

Harry certainly doesn't seem happy at the moment, and well who can blame him. Their press coverage since they announced the pregnancy has been savage.

I worry that going after the tabloid press in such an aggressive manner will just make things worse. As they say, if you come at Caesar you better kill him.

Triglesoffy · 07/10/2019 06:27

Maybe it will come out that Meghan has a secret baby somewhere. But that will be a lie. Cos it’s actually Harry who has fathered 16 children around the globe. But Meghan will get the blame because she didn’t meet him early enough.

PortiaCastis · 07/10/2019 09:48

Well let's face it if Meghan did have a secret child the muck rakers and gossips would be positively elated fingers typing ten to the dozen getting all worked up into a frenzy because they'd some dirt to dish and obviously the child would be an alien or some such invented shite

We’ll just about everybody really. Or do you think Extinction Rebellion are Tories or Brexit Party supporters? Greta Thunberg is calling for the end of capitalism. You can’t really get further left than that.

LaurieMarlow · 07/10/2019 09:53

I totally agree. From what I’ve seen of the Queen’s interactions with Meghan, they seem to get along.

Also, the Queen herself knows what it’s like to marry someone a bit ‘left field’. Odd as it is to say that about Philip now.

Ibiza2015 · 07/10/2019 10:10

Jane Fonda is a left wing activist who has described herself as ‘communist’.

Adwoa Aboah’s website is undeniably slanted to the left.

Adut Akechi has behaved extremely controversially.

I could go on. But it doesn’t really matter if it’s left or right wing. It’s political.

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 10:18

@Ibiza2015 are you saying that concern for the environment or the rights of people with disabilities is exclusively left wing?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/10/2019 10:20

HM is a model of pragmatism and resilience. She lets her family get on with their lives, always has done. I doubt it gives her sleepless nights.

I wouldn’t read too much into the Queen’s interactions. She put on a brave face with Trump as well...

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 10:27

“She lets her family get on with their lives, always has done”

Well, apart from her very public endorsement of Andrew......

LaurieMarlow · 07/10/2019 10:27

Lol, the bashers would hate MM to be liked Wink

The Queen doesn’t smile a whole lot, yet I see her smiling and laughing a lot when in MM’s company.

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 10:28

“Adwoa Aboah’s website is undeniably slanted to the left.”

The only overtly political thing I can find is her calling Alasdair Campbell a bully.

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 10:37

“Adut Akechi has behaved extremely controversially.“
Like the time she objected when a magazine published a picture of another black woman over her name?

Pitterpatterpettysteps · 07/10/2019 10:38

The Queen doesn’t smile a whole lot, yet I see her smiling and laughing a lot when in MM’s company.

MM’s fans would love to think that the Queen particularly enjoys her company. In fact the queen smiles a lot - there are no shortage of pictures of her grinning and giggling with the likes of Donald Trump or Sheikh Mohammed - who has been accused of kidnapping his adult daughter and holding her hostage in the Middle East. The queen can remain pleasant and friendly in the most challenging company. She may like MM, she may not, but her behaviour in public cannot be taken as providing any indication either way. After all, she was also photographed frowning sternly at MM during her wedding

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 10:41

Completely bonkers to think you can make any judgements at all on the relationships between people we don’t know and only ever see in fleeting snapshots of time- usually edited by someone with an agenda.

AviationLifystyle · 07/10/2019 11:20

I think the Queen has checked out to be honest. I think she has done her bit, and wants to chill a bit now and I am totally supportive of that. She really has done her best with this largely dysfunctional family.

She's had a lot to put up with. Boris hasn't helped lately either. Who else has to work into their nineties?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/10/2019 11:22

"She lets her family get on with their lives, always has done”

Well, apart from her very public endorsement of Andrew......

He's her son and a member of the rf, riding with him in a vehicle hardly constitutes endorsement! You'll have to try harder, Bert Grin
