Wellness centre disrespecting HCPs

AIBU - we have a new wellness centre locally. Great facilities and treatments BUT several of their practitioners have made references to GPs, HVs etc not knowing enough...

I got annoyed today when I saw a post about a specific condition. The statement was that GPs don’t think anything can be done. When the literature is reviewed there isn’t really any proven benefit from the intervention they are selling. I’m all for holistic management and self improvement but it really Irritates me that they have to be dismissive of HCPs in the process. Don’t get me wrong HCPs cannot know everything but they do practice to an evidence base.

The key word here is 'selling'. They're basically making money out of people by chipping away at people's confidence in HCPs. It's exploitative, manipulative and crap.

Sounds like they'll be making money out of the "worried well".

We don't know what the conversation is about. Some treatments aren't understood but patients are pleased with them. Even if it's only the placebo effect, it might still be worth it for some.
