Which TV is better please?

I have two TV's in mind but can't decide which one is better? Can you advise me please? The model's I'm looking at are:

SONY BRAVIA KD43XG8096BU (£549.00)
LG 43UM7600PLB (£399.00)

Both are 43" my current TV (Toshiba) is a 32". The only reason I'm upgrading is that I would like to connect to WIFI to watch BBCi Player, UKTV Play etc. I have looked at both sets, and have been told that the Sony has a habit of dropping conection at variouse times.

Which has the better sound and colour?

Both have sports, vivid, cinema, etc. I did find the Sony remote more user friendly then the LG, but can't make up my mind which is the better set.

Many thanks and hope you can help?

Hopefully someone less useless will be along shortly.

How is this an AIBU?

And why are we suppose to care?

Butchyrestingface · 29/09/2019 11:07

Btw, how are people supposed to vote?

beatriceprior · 29/09/2019 11:11

I like the silver bezel on the LG

Ponoka7 · 29/09/2019 11:11

Where are you putting it?

The reviews say that it can't go completely flat against a wall because the connectors are not sideways.

Tbh, with the price difference I'd go for the LG.

If your current TV is fine you just want to use it as a smart TV just get a Google Chrome cast or Amazon firestick or now TV all about £30 and plug in to the TV you have. I wouldn't want a TV bigger than a 32inch personally.

Thanks for your replie's. What's an AIBU? By the way?

Hi - we have an LG and a Sony and to be honest I would say the Sony has a better picture. Have you been able to see them both in real life at somewhere like Currys? We also have a Samsung TV and I really rate that as well.

To answer your question, there are different sections to post in on Mumsnet and this one is called AIBU - it stands for Am I Being Unreasonable. There is a section for product reviews which might give you some more information about TVs Smile

WiltshireGirl · 29/09/2019 18:38

Thanks for your reply eleflump, sorry i didn't realize i was in the wrong forum. Where do I find the forum for product reviews.?

Have seen both TV's in Curry's, my parents have a Sony.

OP - you can use a stick like a Roku to connect to WiFi for iplayer etc. About £30.

Am I Being Unreasonable - this topic is founded on the premise posters ask if they are being unreasonable about something -

Just get a fire stick.

eleflump · 29/09/2019 20:10

Hi - if you press/click on where it says 'Talk' at the top of the screen, it will show you all the different forums. The product ones are shown there. If you click the section called Other there is also a forum called Geeky Stuff where people ask questions about TVs, phones etc.

Good luck with whichever one you choose!
