in customer service, would be full time but DCs getting older. They are looking for weekends though. Might be fun, is around 20K a year. I thought it might be fun.

It will probably be no different from any other customer services job - if you enjoy customer service roles, then go for it.

What ScreamingValenta said.

I used to do this and I loved it. No 2 days are the same and you hear some barmey stuff! It is fun if you've got an open mind and are not phased by anything.

I had one woman saying her vibrator didnt work. Turned out she was pressing the wrong button

Is it lovehoney? I think it would be more like most other retail jobs in customer service. You’ll field questions and problems with products and delivery - just about something a bit different!
But I would say sex toys are pretty mainstream now, people are private about them of course but there’s not a huge stigma about buying them.

user87382294757 · 28/09/2019 15:16

Yes it is lovehoney

Sounds like it would work well for you! Given as long as you're happy to hear about things being the wrong size or not having the desired effect, returns and so forth- then go for it!!!

I worked at a deli and lost my appetite. Hopefully it wouldn't be like that...

user87382294757 · 28/09/2019 15:20

Hmm, returns...

I worked for Ann Summers in customer services for several years. After the initial few laughs it was the same as any other customer service job.

user87382294757 · 28/09/2019 15:24

OK, well the money is a bit more than other customer service jobs I think, maybe due to the weekends. Will have a think.

I'd imagine after trouble heard the funny awkward stories and reasons for wanting to return or something being faulty etc etc etc It would become like any other customer service job.

I'd imagine stories of using it the wrong way or hitting the wrong button becomes boring just like stories of "the drawers doesn't open I want my money back" "it's the wrong colour" "already has one" of generic products.

My brother works in customer services for a large company and has said he'd never do it again if he had a choice. He's in the complaints department though so I suppose people are angry before they even pick up the phone but some of the shit he's had said to him over the years is disgusting.

MarthasGinYard · 28/09/2019 15:35

I've heard they aren't bad to work for, give it a whirl Op

I have always done rather serious jobs in the past and wondered if something like this might be less stressful. I like the idea of something you can leave behind at the end of the day.

That reminds me of the sex toy returns programme that was on tv a little while ago... what was it called?! Fancy giving it a watch now 😂
