Is this day out unreasonable?

I want to take the dc out tomorrow to Windsor castle,
but DH says it's too far (about an hours drive) and too expensive
(60 quid).

Do you think an hour is too far for a day out? Is DH just being a bit grumpy here?

I just wanted to go somewhere fun and didn't think this was too far
or too expensive.

We haven't been for a proper day out since June if that makes a difference. Opinions please?

YABU = day out either too far or too expensive
YANBU = day out sounds nice

We travel an hour for a really big day out, seems normal to me. £60 is a lot but if you will go back two or three times over a year it seems good value.

We usually tend to do a lot of free stuff around our city - parks, museums etc. Plus visiting family.

I would have thought a 60 quid trip every few months would be reasonable. Maybe I should look at stuff that is a bit cheaper for a day trip?

Or go for the season ticket option - I will look into that!

I am not a million miles from Windsor and it's pissing it down here. I'd wait for better weather or it will be miserable.

If it was nice you could stroll through the town and walk along the river. Definitely wait for good weather.

If Reading area isn't too far there's an inside centre there part educational.

What us your husband suggesting for today if he's disliking all your ideas?
