To consider ripping his head off?

DP hasn't worked in five years (anxiety and depression, apparently), but has now got a 17 hr/wk contract.

He's been asked to do extra hours to cover for staff sickness. He's now bitching that it's really tiring and he can't do any housework whilst he's working so hard.

I work full time. I've supported him throughout, at the cost of emotional and physical health - I needed to take time out after redundancy, but he didn't get that job until after I'd found another one, so I'm working fulltime and getting up at a stupid o'clock to get there.

He's working a whole two hours longer over six days than I do over five over the next couple of weeks. His break is ten minutes shorter than mine, but he still works only two hours more. It's not forever, the colleague will be back soon, but the fucking bitching about how hard it is for him to have to work for 38 whole hours a week is doing my head in.

Should I sile sweetly and say I'm so proud of him, bite my tongue (although the look I gave him has already pissed him off) and ignore him - or just go for broke and rip his moaning fucking head off and tell him to whinge about how hard his life is to the cat, as he cares roughly as much as I do but has a cuter nose?

I would let him complain and bite my tongue, since it’s temporary.

Tell him the company's management must be extremely impressed with his performance if they've asked him to do extra hours and that the housework can wait.

And then sound off to the cat... Grin

I'd straight out ask him how he thinks you cope.
It's not fair for him to take and take and take from you. Where's your support?
