The last couple of speeches I’ve seen him make, including the one tonight regarding this impeachment business, he is mumbling and seems very “flat.” No energy at all and it’s hard to focus on what he’s saying. Is he depressed? What’s going on?

There's been talk of frontal lobe dementia.

His leg dragging and slurred speech is definitely worse.

His voice is very monotone, with no intonation, so yes makes me think of depression or early stage cognitive decline and dementia

It’s just very odd. He’s so montone, I dozed off listening to him yesterday. There’s no impetus to anything he’s saying - it’s as if he’s just going through the motions and rambling. All the irritating hand gestures have gone.

See, I thought he was doing it to show everyone how unhappy he is at his terrible and unfair treatment (as he would see it). Like when little kids make their bottom lip wobble and they pack a little bag and stand by the door, announcing, with quiet dignity, that they are going to Spain now, because you wouldn’t let them eat any more cake.

Oh, I thought it was terminal stupidity.

Looking at the video he can hardly open his eyes and is having trouble with his breathing. Perhaps an allergy.

I think he was simply reading aloud from a prompt, which he has always seemed to find difficult. It was far too coherent for his usual style.

If he is ill, I think he has been for a while. His rambling and sputtering and inability to concentrate and completely mangled sentences have often made me think "If I had an uncle who was like Trump, I'd be trying to persuade him to see a doctor about it."

What’s going on? Really? He might (hopefully) be going to jail at some point. Who wouldn’t be a little down about that?

I would say he looks annoyed about the impeachment. He could quit - no run again.

Why the hell doesn't someone tell him to put the makeup around his eyes as well , so they look the same as his face? Surely his daughter could have a chat with him?

I think it's because he considers a press conference a hostile environment. If you look at him speaking at political rallies with his supporters he's quite animated.

He's got an earpiece in his left ear, does this mean he's just repeating what someone's reading out to him via that?

I thought that his UN speech was monotone and dull because it was too long for him to be able to deliver any of it off the cuff. Reading big long words, not his own, from a script.
