Posting for traffic.

I have tried to reserve two properties on the HomeAway site but the owner does not confirm or answer questions. Does anyone know why this would be?

I am booking for two weeks in August next year and the property appears to have no bookings but great reviews though quite old reviews. Is there a scam or something?

They could be away? I find that usually owners reply very quickly, but I have had one that took ages, I don't see how it is a scam though. If they've taken the money for your reservation and then vanished I would be more concerned, but booking through HomeAway should protect you anyway.

I had the same problem with HomeAway this week. Gave up and booked somewhere else through cottages.com with a handy Mumsnet discount!

I don't get why they would be advertising their four properties but not respond to any bookings, perhaps they are away as you say.
