On AIBU as there's a lot more traffic here.

We've had a loft conversion and need to fire-proof the doors to pass buildings regs. Can anyone please point me in the direction of the building regs?

I've got to add another hinge, paint with fireproof paint and add incandescent strips. However, do I need to change the existing (original) hinges as well as adding an extra?

They are big old Edwardian doors, solid wood and well-fitting.

TIA.

Some might suggest it could be easier to buy some cheap regulation doors to put on, and then change them back once building regs have been round..... your current doors sound lovely...

Thanks Screen. They are beautiful, solid and huge (therefore I don't think off the self ones will fit).
