To be sick of voting people off one by one

AIBU but watching Strictly and Bake Off I just wish they’d pick say 8 contestants and they each get a go every week, get points and at the end the person with the most points wins.

I just think that just because someone is crap at say Salsa they might be fantastic at Tango or they can’t make a biscuit but they might make the most amazing fruit cake and we never get to find out.

Yes it would be good to shake the format up - it's getting a bit tired.
Strictly goes on forever and I'm sick of the crap innuendos on Strictly, especially now all the contestants are about 12 years old.

@StillCoughingandLaughing but you could still call in to vote for who gets the top of the leaderboard or star of the week.

I don't mind a knock out because it's easier to follow when there are fewer contestants. However I'd like the fields to be smaller to start with so I could remember who everyone is & they actually make an impression.

Better to vote the whole lot out, roll on the General Election

I can't watch strictly because it annoys me too much that they're not all doing the same dance each week. How is it fair to rank (eg) a waltz against a jive against a salsa. In Bake Off they all do the same every week, it'd be weird if one person was found biscuits but another was doing bread and yet another doing cake.

Maybe you should tweet ch4 or # (hashtag) GBBO in, and suggest this to them.

My nana was a shit cook, but a great cake baker, and my DH's nan was fab at cooking but her cake making was ropey. She was good at making biscuits and 'crumble' though (apple, and rhubarb etc...)

So it does seem a weird format really.

The idea is you should be an all rounder. You can’t be the worst in a week and expect to win.

I don't watch Strictly but agree completely about Bake Off. It's become very dreary and is definitely overdue a revamp.

I don't bother learning the names until they are down to about the last 5 in anything. So YABU, because it means I have to pay more attention.

Which reminds me that the apprentice must be starting soon.

You're not unreasonable, I always feel very sorry for the person who is voted off first in Strictly and wish the programme could be organised in a different way, eg a group of people going off first. That's life though. I love the programme regardless.

My husband loved 'Bake Off' and any type of cookery prog so I did see them sometimes.

Although I'd get rid of half and then have maybe 3 more weeks with the remsinj h five.
I have fully thought this through and am available if channel 4 need me for a revamp

Am guessing her affair with one of the hosts/judges was a key factor there!
