Yesterday afternoon I stood up as my dp closed the boot on our people carrier (big heavy boot door) it was so painful my vision went all blurry but after sitting down for a few minutes I felt a bit better.

I have no egg on my head, no bleeding, no sickness but I have a incredible headache that just won't shift about a quarter of my head is constantly throbbing even after pain killers.

Does this warrant a a and e trip or gp? I hate wasting there time feel stupid to be honest but the pain is becoming unbearable to the point I'm keeping my eye closed on that side of my head.

Call 111 or make an appointment to see your GP.

OlgaPolga45 · 23/09/2019 20:48

Call 111 tonight.

MemphisMum · 23/09/2019 20:48

could be concussion

i would go to a and e if you are having vision problems. you will likely need a scan, for which your gp would only refer you for anyway

MyKingdomForBrie · 23/09/2019 20:49

No swelling is worrying, call 111

Catzpyjamas · 23/09/2019 20:50

I think you should go to A&E if you're in that much pain after a head injury.

Purplestorm83 · 23/09/2019 20:50

I think if you’re sensitive to light then yes that’s an a and e job. Good luck!

LolaSmiles · 23/09/2019 20:51

Call 111. I would imagine they'd suggest you go to urgent care.

It's not A&E based on the "choose wisely" information.

Isadora2007 · 23/09/2019 20:52

Definitely go get checked out. The advice is if the headache doesn’t go away to do so. And if you have visual problems then even more urgently so.

Lovelydovey · 23/09/2019 20:55

My general view is that if you are asking this question, and therefore considering the resource impact and any alternatives, then by default YANBU.

This was an accident, you are still in considerable pain, it could be serious, and there may be treatment that can help. Go! (Or call 111 who will likely tell you to go anyway or will give you further advice).

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 23/09/2019 20:56

Go to A & E and get checked out, or at least call 111. Hope everything is ok Flowers

managedmis · 23/09/2019 20:56

You need to go

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/09/2019 21:00

Please go.
A head injury that is still causing serious problem needs to be checked.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/09/2019 21:04

www.nhs.uk/conditions/concussion/

The NHS advice is to go to A&E

When to go to hospital

Go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department if you've injured your head and have:
...
a headache that doesn't go away

MrsMozartMkII · 23/09/2019 21:05

A&E.

messolini9 · 23/09/2019 21:06

For dogsake nobody can diagnose you over the net, get off MN & off to A&E!

Bluetrews25 · 23/09/2019 21:16

Please go to A&E. Don't drive yourself. I did similar this spring and it was serious.
Hope you are ok.

Kahlua4me · 23/09/2019 21:27

I think you should go to hospital too. If the headache hasn’t gone away you need to get checked.

FannyFifer · 23/09/2019 22:58

If the pain is increasing to that extent then yes I think you need up go get checked out.

Cheeserton · 23/09/2019 23:12

Yes go!

OrangeJustice · 24/09/2019 08:32

Did you get seen op?

palahvah · 24/09/2019 08:43

Head injury, blurry vision, and intense localised pain, no swelling.

Go to A+E

MrsMozartMkII · 24/09/2019 19:28

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 25/09/2019 14:20
