To consider 3 years in Canada?

DH might have an opportunity to work in Canada for 3 years. Just found out, details still sketchy but we are at least keen to find out more and consider it. Would you? The implications are huge, taking kids (4 & 9) away from the only home they know. Change of schooling, friends, far from family. It’s terrifying.

I'd go in a shot....we were over there in the winter a couple of years ago, it was minus 35 some of the time....they are so much better prepared for the conditions .

I’d look at the average daytime temperatures month by month for whatever city it is, just as a starting point.

As far as places go, Canada (and especially Ontario) is probably the most like the UK. However it can feel a bit provincial there compared to London if that’s what you are used to - in many of the smaller towns shops close early and while maternity leave will soon be better than Europe, Annual leave is still often comparable to the US. Also be prepared for your DH to work in the US as needed - nearly every single Ontario company (including hospitals) sends out staff to the States.
