How to make a million ...

Here's the dream ...

-Pay off debt
-Get an extension on the house and make the house nice and livable in
-Open and run a coffee shop (I would LOVE to do this and prepared to work very very hard at it - I have the perfect premises in mind (if ever they will sell! Reckon they could be tempted!!).

To do the above I reckon having between 700,000 and a million pounds would be just peachy! And set me up nicely!

How do I do that?

DH and I have been watching dragons den tonight and trying to figure out how to make our million! But so far we've come up with .... Nothing :)

Any tips?

(We both have 'good' ish jobs currently, but they literally enable us to cover our bills each month and stay ticking over. We have zero money to invest, and no idea how we'd create any spare cash)

Urgh. I just read my own post back to myself and realised how stupid that sounds. If only it were that simple! I guess there probably is a return on something like Seedrs, if you hedge your bets and spread the investment around a little. Will keep buying my lottery ticket for now!

You need to get your bills down and your income up.

Go through all your bills and check you are getting the best deal. Watch out for things like automatic renewals of insurance or energy providers.

Work out a debt repayment plan. Look at the concept of a snowball if you have multiple debts with different interest rates.

When you have finished with your debt repayments use that money for investments as you have already learned to live without it.

Look at ways to increase your income through work and side hustles e.g. matched betting, hobbies, surveys etc.
