I am on a diet and have lost 12lbs in 2 weeks which I think is good going. I've decided that every Sunday after weigh-in I can have a small treat for dinner, something I wouldn't really be able to have other days.

I just told my mum how much I am looking forward to my treat as I have done well all week and she went off on one totally TELLING me I can't have one and then started throwing insults at me and saying that I will give up the diet in a few days as usual. I am 23 yrs old so I don't need telling what I can and cannot have and secondly this stupid woman is supposed to be following the diet but has gone over her allowance EVERY single day and not lost a single pound yet.

Before any of you have a go at me though I am STILL looking to move out and cut ties with this silly bitch and her knob of a husband who still hasn't got a job and has had a car, a holiday, living expenses, clothes and about £600 money out of my mum since he arrived in April.

my sister lost 4 stone on ww and ahe used to have fish and chips and a double decker every week after weigh in. Your mum doesn;t understand how these weekly treats will keep you on track and therefore you will stick to it longer.

Well done on 12lbs - that is nearly a stone.

Good for you Fairy you've done really well. I think you deserve a treat after all your hard work, and if you totally deprive yourself of nice things your probably more likely to give up.

Your mum is probably just jealous that you've done so well.

Don't know anything about your situation but it sounds like it wuld do you good to start out on your own

whoops · 11/08/2007 11:41

Well done Fairy,
You need to have a treat other wise you do lose interest and it gets boring.
I think your Mum must be jealous as you are doing so well and she isn't and is looking for an excuse to give it up

FairyOnTheChristmasTree · 11/08/2007 11:46

Hey 'netters! Thanx for your replies so quickly!

She is definately jealous - every time I prance about coz I feel more energetic she glares at me and when I tell her how much I have lost or how much I've managed to stay on track she tells me in all seriousness to 'shut up, I really am not interested'. Thing is, she does do well til after 10pm when her knob of a husband talks to his sister on the internet, then she eats crisps, biscuits and I have tried with her so much but she just throws it back in my face. They both are users. Only are nice to me when they want something like yesterday when they needed me to take them to the airport. Then they were bastards with me soon as we set off home.

Dior, i'm out of here soon Housing authority are sorting me a place in next month or so

MerlinsBeard · 11/08/2007 20:26

Is this after you yelled at your friend for having something ou didn't approve of the other day? [hmm} sounds like double standards to me

helenhismadwife · 12/08/2007 13:11

fairy well done on your weight loss thats brilliant no wonder you are pleased with yourself, you need to have a treat to look forward to or you will loose motivation, so ignore the comments from your mum. Which diet are you on? I have just started one as well and its hard!!!
