Just that really. Amazon seems to have had an explosion of older films. I love rediscovering someone that I rented once from the video shop as a kid! What rubbish yet compelling film do you love.

Mine is Howard the Duck

The Nutty Professor!

Stephminx · 22/09/2019 20:36

Loved Once Bitten. Great 80s dance off.

phlebasconsidered · 22/09/2019 20:53

Trying not to repeat any of the suggestions so far, so i'm just adding War Games.

Scentsandsensible · 22/09/2019 20:54

chomalungma · 22/09/2019 21:05

I see most Nicholas Cage films have made it onto the list.

catnidge · 22/09/2019 21:09

So many good and crap films on here Grin
Not a crap one in my opinion but one of my favourites is Hearts and Soul, it has a young Robert Downey Jnr.

Yambabe · 22/09/2019 21:15

Crap film from the 80s that you just have to watch?

Got to be Porkys!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 21:16

Raising Cain (John Lithgow ) brilliant film

Can't Buy Me Love - Patrick Dempsey (before he was Frey's Anatomy Dr McDreamy he was a nerd who 'buys' the status of the Alpha Girlfriend ) is funny

And the best film, not in the least bit awful....... Harold and Maude .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 21:17

Grey's Anatomy ( bloody Hairy Trucker Hands) Blush

yolofish · 22/09/2019 21:18

What is WRONG with you people?! Why has no one mentioned War Games, or K9 (and sequels)?!!

WeWantSweet · 22/09/2019 21:24

Another Parenthood film fan here. Films with heart and soul are timeless to my mind and a genre that seems to have been thrown on the scrapheap by its supporters being too afraid to come out in case they're not deemed "relevant".

Redcrayons · 22/09/2019 21:26

Talking of !Nicholas Cage, how could I forget Peggy Sue Got Married. One of my favourite ever films. You need to suspend belief somewhat to imagine 30 something actors as 16 years olds.

Runtobeavertowers · 22/09/2019 21:27

I loved
Con Air
Mannequin
Beetle juice

Fstar · 22/09/2019 21:30

Die hard 1 and 2
Point break
A few good men
Look whos talking
Twins

doublebarrellednurse · 22/09/2019 21:31

The Craft
Empire Records
Dogma
Chasing Amy
American pie (too late?)
Breakfast Club

doublebarrellednurse · 22/09/2019 21:32

Election

YES !

So underrated

Cruel intentions too

PippiDeLena · 22/09/2019 21:38

How about Legend? It features Tom Cruise, when he was young and had bad teeth.

It is a film depicting graphic unicorn murder, the fight of good vs evil, and a teenaged girl dressed like the evil one from Shakespeare's Sister. Basically it's a poor man's Labyrinth, and it's GOLD.

Also, Far and Away (am I a secret Tom Cruise lover? Maybe.) I can't actually remember what happens in it, but I do know that even as a 7 year old I recognised that Tom's Irish accent was a crime against nature.
