Washing etiquette

My mum always said it was 'common' to peg washing out in the evening and leaving it overnight when you know it's going to be sunny. I leave for work at 6.30am so for me it's a no brainer to peg out the night before and hope that BBC weather is accurate. Anyone else peg out at night???

I put the last lot of washing on the line last night at about 8pm. I got it in when I got home from work tonight at about 7pm.

Not the first time nor will it be the last.

I'm just thrilled washing is drying outside. I've got 2 loads of bed sheets on the line atm because tomorrow will be the only day I get a lie in. That way when I surface at lunch they should be drunk ready for the next load to be hung out.
I do worry about the spiders though, our garden seems to be THE cool place to hang out for them.

I just got my bedding in!

I don’t hang out overnight because spiders will creep in my clothes and they may get a bit damp (we only get a small patch of direct sunlight in about 20a% of our garden in high summer. Also (and not mentioned so far) we have a very small London garden, it tends to smell of fox wee the next day, I don’t want my clothes to smell like that!

I do this as well. Otherwise I would never get it out. It has been known to sit on the line for a few days to dry as well, when the rain hits unexpectedly 😂

I hang my washing out at night but take the precaution of placing a chastity belt around each item to ensure no spider willy's can come into contact with them and make them preggerz. Sheesus forbid any of my laundry gets knocked up by a fucking garden spider. My mum would go mental.

Pharlapwasthebest · 20/09/2019 22:01

Mine is out right now, and my mum told me to leave it out.

barearsedloverofthigh · 20/09/2019 22:03

You daft cow Pussy. Your mum is going to go mental now. All your bedding will be knocked up for sure.

PumpityPumpPump · 20/09/2019 22:06

My Dad always does this. 😀

firesong · 20/09/2019 22:18

I don't because I hate bugs. But my mum wouldn't give a toss and never called anything common, as far I recall.

Spider's willies here too....
