Posting here for traffic, so I apologise.

DP (22) & I (18) have been claiming universal credits for over a year. We have one DC (16 months) and rent a house together. Our claim is joint.

We both work, so it is more a form of income support. I only work 16 hours p/w, otherwise I'm a SAHM. DP works more than I do, but still under 30 hours. He is actively seeking full-time employment. We are both on NMW. UC helps us cover our bills, and the housing element pays the majority of our rent.

On Wednesday we found out they'd cancelled our claim in mid-August. We were never informed of this, nor given any reason as to why. I went to the centre on Thursday morning, but the lady couldn't offer any further information & suggested we start a new claim. We have to go through the whole eligibility process again. If the application is accepted, we will have to wait until late next month for our 'first' payment.

Does anyone have any advice? Would CAB be worth ringing? I don't really know what to do re-rent & bills as our wages won't cover it all.

Sorry for long post. Blush
