David Cameron says he regrets the loss of the friendship of ex close friends Mr and Mrs Michael Gove and maybe the rift can be repaired one day. How could he possibly trust them in future? Impossible?

I think it's interesting and shows Cameron is a poor judge of character. Some things, in my opinion, are unforgivable and being betrayed by 'close' friends is high on the list. Still, this is someone who justifies austerity as a pretty good move so questionable judgement all round, I suppose. Shouldn't cone as a surprise.
