‘Get ready for Brexit’? How exactly?

Everywhere, these creepy government-funded messages are popping up - full front page of this morning’s Metro paper, TV ads etc etc. How exactly are we, ordinary citizens, supposed to ‘get ready for Brexit’? Isn’t this just a heavy-handed way of drumming into those of us who still think that shooting yourself in the head as a nation is an incredibly poor idea that resistance is futile - getting us ‘mentally ready’? Are you ‘getting ready for Brexit’ and if so how?

DarkAtEnd We don't need to do what?

There is LITERALLY NOTHING in the advice that suggests stockpiling or anything remotely like it.

DarkAtEndOfUK · 18/09/2019 16:03

Then what are they making all the fuss about? We all know what the Yellowhammer documents said.

This article clearly shows that the UK only produces 61% of its food.

www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2019/aug/13/how-a-no-deal-brexit-threatens-your-weekly-food-shop

There are several other guardian articles from the last couple of days regarding warnings from the Co-op, John Lewis and the Wine and Spirit Trade Association and other bodies from the food sector. There are also warnings that the French will put out all force to check lorries.

We will see a shortage in food, especially perishables.

and we Irish will see even more shortages, as so much of our food comes across Britain from the continent, or from British suppliers. Like a PP I used up all the stockpile I'd laid in for the end of March Grin Stoking up again now.

I have stocked up on non perishables and took deliver of a chest freezer today which is sitting in the garage. I also have 3 ten litre Jerry cans for fuel but might get more
Am seriously considering buying an electric or at least hybrid car (car is due for replacement)
