to ask what your life goals are now?

I always wanted to get an education, meet someone, travel a bit, get a home, good job, car and get married. Then have a family.

I had done all of those by 27. My son is now 5 and I remember laughing and saying my goal is to get parquet flooring before I die.

But in all seriousness, what now?

Do you even HAVE to have a goal?

I suppose another goal of mine is to bring my son up as a happy, rounded individual. But that's just parenting isn't it... not a goal. Or a personal goal.

So... what are your LG's now?

Go to work tomorrow, don't get in an accident, don't die, do my job competently, keep tabs on DC, don't upset anyone.

Most days those feel like huge achievements so I'm satisfied with those goals.

Buy my own home. Leave my abusive relationship. Meet a man who wants me to be happy and who is not jealous or insecure. Join a choir and a tennis club. Visit Las Vegas and Tokyo. Write my one novel that is in me waiting to come out. Join a gym. Stop wasting money on crap!

education - do postgrad/ CPD

meet someone - make new friends

travel a bit - more!

get a home - bigger house/ better area

good job - better job

car - better car

get married - stay married (don’t take this for granted) / get divorced

have a family - another DC

I think life goals into your 30s/40s tend to become ‘more of the same’

  1. Step out of my comfort zone each day
  2. Have a treat every day
  3. Travel LOTS
  4. Get through each week/month without wishing time away (e.g. counting down to home time or the weekend).

I'm 40

To love fiercely, to be passionate and kind. To leave the world a better place, even in some small way.

Grow more berries. In the garden are redcurrants, jostaberries, blackberries and strawberries. The snails ate all the strawberries this year as they.took so long to ripen. Therefore I am planting more runners. I want strawberries, lots and lots of strawberries and maybe some raspberries too.

I want to beat the record for the longest life (currently 122 years), I have no plan how to achieve this (as seems pointless as death appears to be pretty random), just my wish!

Plus I want to see what happens next..........I am roughly halfway to my target.....

darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 16/09/2019 22:04

Keep fit and slim as I age and stay content.

lightlypoached · 21/09/2019 08:16

@Reallynowdear re planking. Some of it is technique. Try pushing your heels backwards towards the wall behind you and clench your bum. Make your legs strong so they also support you -that way it isn't just core/stomach doing all the work. Smile

For family to be happy and healthy. And put good into the world via my career
