To delete friend who has joined an MLM

A lady I know from work has joined an MLM selling some sort of laxative coffee.
Her FB and instagram are covered in posts for it and about her promotions/trying to get a car etc etc.
She very much fits the profile of people they poach, she’s a SAHM and it’s been a squeeze of late for her.

I think MLMs are poisonous and I hate seeing her posts flogging this nonsense.
AIBU to remove her from my friend list

@JosieJaspar yep, actilabs is horrible. There are so many of these MLMs and some of them appear and then die quite quickly, others (sadly) hang around for many years. Some of the websites have an MLM master list, it’s a very looong list! Ultimately, with a few tweaks in presentation and process they all have the same poor outcome for people.

Has anyone read Merchants of Deception? I think It''s free online pdf or a couple of £ on amazon. It's a fascinating book, if a bit.. Er well I lost a bit of interest toward the end but then I did read it very fast up until that point. It's about a man who invested everything in an MLM. It's harrowing in places. But I'd recommend it to anyone thinking about joining an MLM (It's much heavier reading than Elle Beau's account though), or just anyone who's interest has been piqued and wants to find out more about MLMS and what they can do to people's lives.

A true friend wouldnt suppoert their friend ruining their financial futures.

@YouokHun I thought that was the case. My sister is involved and I’m embarrassed that she regularly puts a post up on FB about a magical inch loss wrap that loses inches whilst you sit on the sofa and watch tv 🤦🏽‍♀️ I have tried to softly mention that it’s a form of pyramid selling but she then just regurgitates the defence that she’s been fed from her up-line I guess. What hurts most is that she’s now trying to make money by blatantly lying and that’s just not her...or at least, I didn’t think it was ☹️

@JosieJasper yes horrible to observe . The Botwatch blog has good advice about managing a loved one caught up in MLM botwatch.blog/2016/06/17/how-to-help-someone-in-an-mlm/

JosieJasper · 22/09/2019 19:32

@YouokHun Thank you. Will have a look at that later

@CoffeeQueenOfHerts what a load of gibberish! These mums are being sucked into a world where they think they are making money but they are not! Normal people dont spend all day on facebook posting and inboxing whilst being at home with their kids.
I have no idea what you are selling but get out of it.
All these so called bossbabes and mumpreneurs, this aint your business. you're working for others and earning a bit of commission. whats so bossbabe about that?
