Posting here for traffic, I know it will probably need to be moved,

If we earn around 3700/month and have to put a baby in full time nursery, what % of the cost will we get any help with with tax free childcare ect?

Tax freechildcare is 20% (clue is in the name)

Sunshinegirl82 · 15/09/2019 22:32

It is 20% but only up to maximum of £2,000 per year per child. In my area (SE - childcare is v expensive) that would not get you a full 20% off a full time place.

Lazypuppy · 16/09/2019 21:32

@Sunshinegirl82 ah ok, whereas our full time nursery is about £800 a month so just falls under the £2k threshold for whole amount for the year

Merryoldgoat · 16/09/2019 21:38

I’m a big fan of it - we take home around £4.7k and our childcare bill is around £800 per month total for both children so we get the full 20% off.

I have been using it for 6 months and found it a very good system - much prefer it to childcare vouchers.
