That successful women are destroying other women while calling themselves feminist?

I’m talking here about Lisa Bloom PR’g Harvey Weinstein’s career when she knew what he’d done, all the while that she-hypocrite was soaking up the PR value from going after Bill O Reilly and Bill Cosby. Ghislain Maxwell procuring girls.. children really… for Jeffrey Epstein, and the countless women lawyers who work to discredit rape and domestic abuse victims daily in the legal system to protect male clients.

Can someone explain why with all the opportunity available in this day and age so many successful women are still so willing to throw other women under the bus?

Well hold on. In the above example Lisa bloom is going after men and women.

@iwunderwhy probably out of the same reason other people do it. Out of the reason anyone does it. Being of a certain gender does not have magical abilities to make someone an angel. There is bad people. Bad men and bad women nothing more to it. All we can do is hope there is a strong enough legal system to punish people once we have concrete evidence of their doings.

Change all the references to women in your OP to ‘men’ or even ‘people’, and you will see that this is a deeply silly question. Lawyers of either sex represent clients accused of horrible crimes daily because that is their job.

Some people, regardless of sex, throw people under the bus.

I am not sure why people seem to think it's more shocking when a woman does it to another woman.

Its down to personalities. Not the sec if the person.

Personally, I think holding women to a higher standard of morals is very anti feminist. It perpetuates the stereotype that women are soft, gentle, kind nuturers who only act in a caring and gentle way.

iwunderwhy · 15/09/2019 07:49

Actually @Bringonspring Bloom has specifically marketed herself as a feminist, she went after Bill O Reilly and Cosby, yet was polishing Weinstein's reputation by suggesting ways to go after his accusers. That's what I'm talking about.

@Tilltheendoftheline I don't mean elbows at work which is fine, I suppose I think that most women have encountered some form of gender difficultly climbing the career ladder. For her to then sit through hundreds of horror abuse stories first hand and then seek out a powerful abuser and offer ways to discredit another bunch of victims. I just don't get it.

@iwunderwhy because she realised it paid well. Some people do horrible things or allow horrible things to happen.

Tilltheendoftheline · 15/09/2019 08:16

@iwunderwhy but again, saying you are one thing to make money, acting poorly, hurting other people have success and a career is something people do.

It's not down to the persons sex. Its down to personailty types.

Some people use other people while pretending they dont.

This isnt about sex. Its about her being a dick. She steps on people. While pretending she doesnt. Men and women do this a the time, to men and women.
