To buy someone a birthday gift that didn't get me one?

Ok so it was my birthday a few weeks ago and I went out with a large group of mum friends for lunch. Some of them bought me gifts, some got cards, some didn't, I genuinely wasn't bothered either way, we had a lovely time.
Next week it's one of the other's birthdays and we are off out again. Normally I would buy a gift, nothing fancy just a nice bottle of wine or whatever, but she didn't get me anything and I'm worried she will be embarrassed for not getting me anything! Would you just go ahead and get something? I hate turning up empty handed.

I would buy something small like a bottle of fizz or some chocolates.

If this is going to be a regular thing amongst you all then at some point you will be attending a birthday of someone who got you a gift so you will really need/want to give a gift. It may make it a bit awkward if you have given another a gift but didn't get her one alsoConfused.
I think I'd get a box of chocolates and keep it similar for everyone in the group.

I'd just get a card.

I would go with what you usually do for everyone. I assume she isn't a gift giver to anyone else in the grouo?

To be honest I haven't noticed if she gives gifts to others. I just don't want her to feel awkward and think "oh shit, maybe I should've got her something the other week!"
