AIBU in thinking that some threads are deleted because OP does not like the answers they are getting?

YANBU.

Moderating is becoming increasingly consistent. An interesting thread of the treatment of women of colour in sport was deleted the other week. The deletion message said “the OP hasn’t been back for an hour so looks like they’re not coming back”. 🙄

That is odd @JacquesHammer .

MNHQ won't delete threads on whim, as a general rule there would need to be a very good reason to get a deletion.

Load of rubbish. Smile

@AnneKipanki yes it was awful.

They offered to change my username on all the posts - I'm not sure what the rationale was, I suppose it meant the stalker couldn't revert back to old threads but I really needed a robust approach and it was disappointing not to get one. It still smarts every time i see a deletion message that cites privacy concerns Angry
