How many people do not know this

I can't believe it, I have recently discovered due to helping a sick relative that if someone receives Pension Credit they can ring United Utilities and ask for help with bills. Also if someone receives PIP they can have a £140 reduction on their Electricity or Gas bill (warm front discount). I wonder if it was just me that didn't know. I imagine there may be a few people out there that do not know and need the help.

Not everyone who receives PIP can get the gas / electricity discount, I believe it depends on the energy provider

That's correct. Not all energy providers subscribe to the Warm Home Discount scheme. Check your provider out online and change provider if necessary.

People qualify if they are on certain benefits/low income. Check the .gov website for eligibility.

It is paid by British Gas around March time by deducting it from your electricity bill around that time.
