Has anybody felt pregnant and been pregnant before it was too early to take a test?

Sorry - not really an AIBU I know.

Last few days I've felt "different". Had terrible heartburn, sickness, food aversions and I've been knackered. The last time I felt like this I was pregnant.

I've freaked myself out. I've taken a test but it's negative. I think it's too early to take one anyway.

I had my child a couple months ago and haven't had a proper period since, so it's hard to say exactly when I'm due on.

I'm so confused. Has anyone experienced this before? I just "feel" pregnant.

I could feel the egg implanting. Thought I was coming on early the first time but second time I was sat there thinking this is the moment! I'm in the minority apparently though when speaking to people. I didnt just 'know' though. Sounds promising though! How would you feel if you were?

Wallywobbles · 09/09/2019 22:14

Yup. Boobs grew over night. At 4 days post sex I was pretty sure. Sex on last day of period.

namechangedjustfornow · 09/09/2019 22:15

@Ihatefootball86 It would be difficult if I was pregnant, it's just not the right time. We will be moving house soon, I'm supposed to be retuning to work in 2 months time and studying for a new qualification.

That being said, I don't think I could go through an abortion. DP otoh is adamant that he doesn't want another baby (yet).

DD1 was 5 months at the time.

sweetkitty · 09/09/2019 22:17

5 times I’ve just “known” had that feeling. Few times I’ve tested maybe 4-5 days before my period was due and got a positive (I’m so impatient).

Carpetburns · 09/09/2019 22:22

Yes, knew I was. Test was negative. Waited a week. Positive.

hopeful31yrs · 09/09/2019 22:24

Had iui with first child, 5th attempt but a week post insemination I had a crippling pain which lasted a few seconds deep in my pelvis. It went away to a dull ache but I just knew it had worked. Post ivf with my son I got the same pain but less intense pain about 16hrs post transfer and 48hrs got a positive test. Absolutely no doubt it had worked. Also, it was like my body just remembered the first pregnancy and everything just relaxed - hard to hide it second time x

FirstTimeToddlerMum · 09/09/2019 22:34

I think I did , was a bit of a strange feeling which is hard to describe.

I was lying on my stomach on the sofa (big sofa Grin) and I remember very suddenly thinking I probably shouldn't be lying like this I'm definitely pregnant, it was like something just told me there and then I was pregnant. (Obviously I know now it was fine to lie like that but I didn't at the time) I had no other symptoms and it wasn't planned.

Anyway, I was pregnant. I tend to have a weird sense when people are pregnant too , which could totally be a fluke and probably is , but I usually always can tell.

Areyoufree · 09/09/2019 22:38

Yes - both times. However, I’ve also been convinced I was pregnant, and had all of the symptoms, when I wasn’t pregnant. Especially after having a baby, when my cycle was trying to start up again - felt pregnant every month!

Girlmeetsbook · 09/09/2019 22:38

I knew I was the next day (yes I know that's not possible) but I did, and I was. First pg test negative, too early-waited a couple of days and BFP. Strange feeling.

MarchionessOfCholmondeley · 09/09/2019 22:39

Yup, I figured out I was pregnant after about a week. Turned out it was twins.

Ellisandra · 09/09/2019 22:44

So you’re really tired like in your previous pregnancy, and craving the same food?
No, I wouldn’t call that “woman’s instinct”.

I tried for 3 years for a baby. I just knew several times. I wasn’t though.

Based on your ACTUAL symptoms, you might be. Some tests are more sensitive than others.

Shelby30 · 09/09/2019 22:46

I thought I would and I know everyone is saying yes but no I didn't have a clue. I was so shocked when the test came up positive even though we were trying. The only incline I had was a little heartburn but I was always symptom spotting every month 😂 Funnily though second pregnancy I also had a random bit of heartburn that was first symptom.

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 09/09/2019 22:51

Yes, sore breasts at the wrong time of the month. I was pretty convinced before it was soon enough to take the most sensitive test.

Whattodowith · 09/09/2019 22:55

Trouble is pregnancy and PMS symptoms are identical. I remember when I was TTC every month would be ‘the month’, I had every symptom under the sun but AF still showed. Acne, light cramps, tiredness, slight nausea, hightened sense of smell, sore boobs and mood swings happen for me whether I’m pregnant or just due on my period. I never truly know until my period is late and I get a positive test.

ludothedog · 09/09/2019 22:59

I'm sure that I felt the egg implant too. I've been told that it's not possible but I dud!

namechangedjustfornow · 09/09/2019 23:00

@Whattodowith I'm hoping it is just that as I've been so irregular since having ds

Adoptthisdogornot · 09/09/2019 23:01

Yes. Every one of the 12 times I've been pregnant I knew far too early to know iyswim. Doctors never believed me. The real tell tale for me was a weird flip I felt in my stomach, similar to being nervous.

noworklifebalance · 09/09/2019 23:05

Yes - we were trying for less than a week and I woke one morning and vomited. Pregnancy test that day was positive.

Mrsmummy90 · 09/09/2019 23:09

With dd2, I didn't get a positive test until af was 2 weeks late.
I had strong suspicions I was pregnant though.

funinthesun19 · 09/09/2019 23:18

With my youngest yes. I just kept feeling this little twinge in my tummy and I just knew. I tested from when I was just under 4 weeks and it was negative. Tested again when I was bang on 4 weeks and it was positive.

Milly345 · 09/09/2019 23:21

Body temp drops when
Implantation happens I think you feel colder than normal

Houseworkavoider · 09/09/2019 23:25

Yes. I felt implantation with one (of three) and suffered hg so I was actually vomiting before the test- on the first day that my period was due. My scans confirmed my dates!

Love51 · 09/09/2019 23:26

I only had 2 periods between babies, so didn't know when to take a test. Took one anyway, it came up negative. Gave the toddler some food and almost threw up. People have been falling pregnant a lot longer than clear blue have been around!

namechangedjustfornow · 10/09/2019 00:02

I'm going to test again definitely but I'm not sure when! And don't want to waste tests.
