To have a 'feeling down' day/week

Just that.

One of those feeling down days. Can't pinpoint anything specific. Maybe lack of sleep? Country tearing itself apart? Dark nights? Have got a history of depression but usually have it managed.

Going to do a night of things that comfort me. Takeaway and telly and a bath.

Anyone else feel like this sometimes? Am I alone in this?

Suppose my AIBU is to ask if others get days like this too?

Everyone has down days.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/09/2019 15:19

I have a down week every month before my period! Good idea to have an evening of things to comfort you :) enjy

Barbarafromblackpool · 09/09/2019 15:20

I feel like that today. I think it’s the last 13 months of broken sleep and starting the day at 5 that’s not helping. I am also finding the constant low level hum of Brexit pretty depressing.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 09/09/2019 15:21

Me too. My nan always used to blame the weather – "atmospherics" making us feel down. There's nothing really wrong, I just feel blah today. Evenings closing in don't help, I'm a summer person.

I'm also planning a nice evening of comfort things! Hope you feel better in the morning.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 09/09/2019 15:21

Me too, felt horrific yesterday, then I realised it’s PMT and winter. Great!

Agree found Brexit v depressing

marblesgoing · 09/09/2019 15:23

Always have a couple of days before I'm due on where I'm low.
Can't shake the feeling and no reason for it apart from hormones.

Not helped right now by the weather change 🙁

bungleZippy12 · 09/09/2019 15:27

I have these too. Just random days where I feel all meh and wanna stay home and hide under blankets all day!

Hannah021 · 09/09/2019 15:32

My stomach really hurts today, and I'm struggling to focus and get some work done... its really hard to feel like this when you're working from home and want to accomplish something...

I'm not sure what makes me comfortable to be honest... maybe my comfy cup of tea with mint leaves, and my 5 tea biscuits while watching youtube?
Eating junk will make me feel upset with myself lol, aint no1 needs to be upset with themselves on them days !!

milliefiori · 09/09/2019 15:35

I'm having one today. Just feel like crying. Done no work. Can't concentrate. It's linked with lack of sleep - three broken nights in a row and I feel like mud on a shoe.

Sorry you're having this, OP. I went to an exercise class and had a long bath. Not sure either helped but I definitely am not feeling worse.

BillywigSting · 09/09/2019 15:35

I'm having a bit of down week too. Feeling quite tearful over stuff that wouldn't normally bother me quite so much. Like the plumber breaking my garden ornament that was a present from a friend in my home country, or the mountain of clothes I had to rewash because dp thinks everything comes out clean at 30°c. It does not. Every single one of my tops still stank of sweat. Or the fact that I'm going to get drenched in work tonight and have been put with a client who quite clearly does not like me. Or that I have to reseal the shower because it's leaking into the dining room. Plus a hundred other minor niggles that have added up to put me in a fucker of a mood.

vavavoomdeboom · 09/09/2019 15:37

Glad it's not just me, though not wishing blues on anyone else. Thanks

I'm not a crier but feel like I need a good cry, if you know what I mean. Might watch a weepy type movie to get it out of me and cheer me up.

You are most definitely not alone.
Much luv and understanding x

Well I feel hugely better today. Had a good sleep and watched The Royal Family on loop to distract me.

Hope others are better too.

Everyone feels like this. Try some vitamin D supplements too.

riotlady · 10/09/2019 12:38

Absolutely normal! Glad you’re feeling better today :)
